Think logically here. Ice isn't going to publicly criticize a program that he loves and say that he can't trust the coaches here to protect one kid. He's not going to say that he felt lied to by our staff to protect one kid.

None of the other schools that have offered Kirkland are about to pull his scholly just because we did. Both parties could have parted ways quietly and said nothing. But clearly Ice felt the need to speak up. And this is a guy who is just as much of a Cane as any of us and loves this program just as much if not more.

Sorry but protecting one single player doesn't fly. That doesn't add up at all. If anything, Ice would lean towards protecting UM more than one single kid if it was really the kid's fault

Ice is at least 40 something not some teenage high school girl who just got dumped by her boyfriend. Not to mention he's a coach who has been dealing with the recruiting world and the shadyness that comes along with it for years. Of course he's going to be a tad emotional because he cares about his kids and UM...but you're vastly overstating the impact emotions might have had on his words. He's a grown *** man, not some hysterical little girl reacting to a tragic event. He knows what he's saying.

The way this is playing out, its actually the most likely scenario. Someone asked for money, and Golden had to pack it up and yank the scholie. Only problem with this is why would Harris put us on blast for that?

Yeah, I want to believe that, but Harris said Barrow did it himself. Barrow has the closest relationship to Harris. There is no way Barrow wouldnt have pulled him aside and said "Yo Tim, some sh*t went down behind the scenes and we have to walk away, we cant take a chance with all this NCAA stuff going on, etc.." Why would Barrow yank the scholie and lie to Harris about it? What does it benefit us to lie to Ice Harris and create this sh*tshow? I mean its not like we would PUBLICALLY say why we moved away. This could all have been done behind the scenes with no embarassment and drama. Something else is going on here.

So you're telling me that Ice told the coaches that Kirkland was going to sign with Miami, and then the coaches go out and tell Kirkland that if he doesn't announce right now, they're going to drop him? Yeah...that sounds pretty legit to me.

Obviously Miami ****ed something up BAD if the Ice is going off like this. If it was all on the player, I seriously doubt he would be putting this all out in the public. I understand people want to justify Miamis actions because they feel Golden and staff can do no wrong. However, in this situation they messed up something. Whatever it was, they ****ed off a guy who is very important to keep happy. Hopefully it will get smoothed over.
