IF we pulled every scholarship from recruits who were being offered money by other schools we'd be recruiting pure scrubs.

And as Ice...and every other recruiting site was already saying....KIRKLAND WAS ALREADY COMING TO MIAMI. Why the **** would we pull a scholly from a kid who was already coming here regardless because he wanted money?

other than Brandon Harris, Davon Johnson and Ice Harris as a community liason the same time his son committed to Miami,
has BTW sent anyone of note to Miami.
I don't think since Golden took over.
Does this coach Ice Harris actually really help us more than he helps say the FSU coaches or the UF coaches or even the FIU coaches?
I know Thomas and Kirkland are outstanding recruits and next year they have some studs, but objectively speaking how can we really call BTW a Miami feeder school?

I wonder how much money Ice Harris makes at BTW. He's not a teacher as he doesn't have a degree, so he must just be a football coach.
Gatewood says he makes $3100/year to coach football. Even if you double that amount for Harris that's still not much.
I wonder how Ice Harris makes a living.
Just speculating that there are other more nefarious things going on behind the scenes.

BINGO. Big miscalculation if that is what happened. I get not wanting to let these kids jerk us around, and saying "time to sh*t or get off the pot", but this needed to be done better. They should have thought about the potential ramifications, and they needed to have been working with Harris and had him know the deal throughout.

Why wouldn't the guy who was supposedly committed (Kirkland) assure them of the commitment? Ice is talking out of both sides of his mouth. In one breath, he tells Fatso Manny that he would never tell any kid where to go. Then, in the next breath, he's basically saying he's committing for Kirkland because Kirkland won't tell the corches he's committed.

Doesn't matter, they wouldn't just pull his offer. And he was always coming to UM, hence the reaction you're getting now.

Just speculating based on the information. It would make more sense to pull the offer if the staff had a clue he was going somewhere else, and when confronted he wouldn't commit.

Im **** serious. How long have you been following recruiting? Do you remember the Dwayne Bowe situation? Bowe's grandmother flat out started talking money to Butch right in the kitchen, and they had to get up and roll out. With the NCAA sh*t hanging over our head, if someone on Kirkland's side asked for money, Golden almost certainly would have to pull the scholie and cut contact with the kid. I DONT KNOW if that is what happened, just saying, the abrupt and sudden way this whole thing has gone down, has the feel of that kind of situation.

Furthermore, let's say we really did run out of scholarships and had no more room for Kirkland....then why would Barrow ask for him to commit? That would make no sense to ask for a kid to commit if you don't even have room for him and plan to revoke his scholarship.

KIRKLAND WAS ALREADY COMING TO MIAMI. So all of a sudden today after he was already planning to come to Miami the coaches all of a sudden found out about him wanting money??

He's got too much to risk to lie that publicly and tear UM a new ******* in the process.

What does he have to risk? He's a HS corch who corches some great talent that he can send anywhere. There's really no downside to unloading on UM. A lot of the guys down that way are still bitter with UM because of Shanntard getting greased. Look at Uncle Puke. That dude claims to be a big UM fan, yet he does a hatchet job publicly on UM every chance he gets.

It's a little odd that Shanntard hired Ice, and when Al came in there was no job for him. Now, he's going HAM on UM and Al. They might have been working together in a sort of begrudging fashion where it's all smiles publicly but not so much behind the scenes.

Ice would if he really thought Kirkland was going to UM. Think about it....if he wanted to come here all he had to do was commit. The staff wouldn't announce it. He wouldn't commit....if they had an idea he was looking somewhere else they cut ties. Ice, thinking Kirkland was coming gets ****ed. Kirkland saving face makes some comments that didn't seem all that upset to be honest. It's the simplest answer.....it's also the one with least impact. If 6, and the rest of BTW understand that situation it might not have the fallout we expect. I suspect if that was the case you will see Ice backtrack...we'll see
