Cribby’s recruiting vibe check

I keep saying have to get to 8 wins. Would that be enough or you all thinking we need 10?

It’s a tough schedule. 8-9 wins keeps the momentum going. Anything less is disaster area for Mario. We have to stay healthy.
Asking a Mario team to be “ healthy” is a tall task. When injuries happen Mario needs to make sure things don’t fall off the rails. He has to be a better in every aspect of being a Gameday coach.

I'd like to find a middle path.

We don't have to go no-huddle and rush to the line. And we shouldn't stand around looking at the sidelines, bleeding every play clock down to 1 second.

I'd love to see a few runs, then a long pass to Colbie (height) or Harrell (speed). Time of possession that isn't 2 minutes or 10 minutes, but maybe around 5 minutes.
People will get fixated on the amount of rushes or short passes, etc. I just want dominance and points, however it comes.

If we’re bullying teams up front, then run it down their throat until they stop it sorta like we did to A&M (until we kept shooting ourselves in the foot). If they can’t cover us in the secondary or they’re too slow when we get to the perimeter, then attack that. If their LBs or safeties can’t cover our TE’s, rip them apart.

Miami scores 30ppg this year, 10+ Ws isn't unrealistic.

What people discount with a Mario style philosophy is the deliberate and methodical nature of it...i.e. fyzical up front bro. It isn't predicated on quick strike.

Miami controls LoS (on O) and scores 30ppg? Probably 3-5 less touches per game for the opposing O gets. That would be a massive and positive change of fortune for our Miami Hurricanes.
Field position by having a better defense.
Not having a tired defense cause we're not going 3 and out all the time.
Improving red zone offense and scoring more TDs.

All will contribute to us avg 32.4 points a game

I know people don't wanna hear about the run game cause it's Mario and "bro style" whatever. But we've been putrid running the ball for YEARS now. And a good & healthy run game, makes it easier to air the ball out. Sucks in the defense and allows our big arm QB to go over the top with ease. As much as I wanna see TVD air it out to Colbie, X, RayRay etc. I'm really looking forward to the RBs actually getting 4+ ypc. And add Allen & Chaney who gets yards after contact, this offense can be buzzin

It’ll be a good week

Agreed and play to the tempo that makes sense and focus on SCORING. If the run game is working, keep going to it and milk the clock at the same time. If pace is working and has a team off balance, don’t be afraid to score quickly. Be flexible.
I'd offer a tweak to above...

Miami's O focuses on getting the next 1st down (yes Capt Obvious). Do that and scoring is a certainty. Miami can do that wirh an OL that gets 3 and 2.

That is exactly how Joe Brady described his offensive philosophy. "My focus is on keeping the chains moving and getting first downs ... always have a check down receiver open to keep the chains moving. Keep getting 1st downs and then you score TD's".

Honestly dude, were more talented then 9 teams on our schedule. The other 3 while they are better then us. They aren't Georgia, Bama, or Ohio State. They wouldn't be some earth shattering upset. This season is setup perfect for Mario. Just win.

I'm more concerned with blue chip ratios and overall prospect ranking. 89.whatever is very past corches like. Our rankings, like then, is artificial. I want quality versus quantity. Still, if we're kinda low on that, it'll work itself out in time with a bunch of transfers in this new recruit world we find ourselves in.

I actually want to revise the 30+ppg or bust because even though it should still occur, I forgot College has a running clock like the NFL this year except for under 2 min in the 2nd and 4th quarters. Scoring will certainly be down.

Still, get to that 30ppg elite range or very close to it, and look exciting in the process.

being laughed at by rival fanbases and plenty of media. **** our own fans and media have been doing the same. I mean I’d be lying if i said I didn’t have doubts creeping in at one point. To the outsiders and insiders we were now brokies that’s destined to finish with a 25th ranked class. I never got to that level though lol.

Lashlee did this well from what I remember. We didn't go no-huddle, straight to the line until we got a big play. He did it to maintain momentum and keep the defense off balance. Once it was stopped, the offense would huddle, look at the sidelines and play "normal" speed.
