MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

We’re seriously at the point where people are trying to decipher a ******* riddle? These guys are off their meds.

1) It’s a ******* riddle to farm engagement.

2) It’s written in the most vague way to ensure that whatever happens down the line can be fit into it.

Honestly I want something to happen so these Twitter accounts can be exposed as the frauds that they are. Someone’s gonna get it right, but at least a few of them will be exposed.

We have grown men, from stoners to trades to highly degreed academics, who hit the refresh button on their internet feeds like a teenage boy sparking one off to Pornhub*, hanging on every social media porst of 17 year old potential recruits and their "handlers" about where are they committing to school x, y, or z.

So yeah, we are seriously at this point.

What happens is these guys will, over time, throw literally idea at the wall. Then when something actually happens, they'll retweet the one single tweet that matched the result and claim they were an insider the whole time. People are too lazy to go back years to pull receipts, assuming those incorrect tweets haven't been deleted, and then look at that retweet and go, "Wow, you knew this whole time."

I definitely think random people on twitter are wayyyy likelier to get these nuggets then national columnists, writers, news stations, etc.

Nostradamus made 25,000 predictions....he was bound to hit on a few. Especially since many were vague and now people interpret it a certain way

So, if nothing happens by end of July, we get to discuss all scenarios for another year??!!

He changed that to "One public ivey and one private ivey wannabe" (could be Miami).

-UNC & Miami to the B10
-FSU & Clemson to the SEC

All riddles ... everybody is guessing. Only thing clear is something is going to happen soon.
Have no clue who that guy is but isn't the shocker left behind Miami?

Considering all the Twitter and media buzz about it, would it be a “shocker” if we were left behind? There’s been a bunch of “columnists” and Twitter “insiders” who have already said we’d get left behind (I disagree with them). People who’ve predicted us to the B1G or as part of another contingency. According to them, it wouldn’t be a shocker.

A shocker would be UNC getting left behind, not us. Because for a lot of people it’s baked in already.

Think the "shocker" is somebody besides Miami getting left behind ... like UVA ... since everybody has been projecting Miami is left out for some time.

Bingo. Personally I think the shocker would be UNC getting left behind. There’s a lot more political considerations and variables there than with any other realignment candidate.

Yeah ... having the pressure of the NC State legislature and their recently released objective of INCREASING SPORTS TOURISM for the state ... with the Charlotte metro area supposedly benefitting to the tune of $400-$500 million per year in ACC related "tourism" ... would be a kick in the nuts to have a founding ACC member bail.

Not that I think ANY of these tweets have any merit, but in this guy's narrative UNC is the name that would truly be the shocker. Everyone assumes they'd go elsewhere—and both conferences would want the—but it seems the UNC system wants them to stay loyal to the ACC and they are tied to the hip with NC State. So glad we don't have to deal with state politics like this.

Edit: sorry, just saw others posted the same thing before I read down the page.

Do you think the NC legislation had anything to do with the rumblings of conference realignment? Obviously, if the ACC were to implode, a lot of $$$ would be lost without all the ACC activities in the state.

A $500 million dollar economic impact on the Charlotte metro area would certainly drive legislative moves to try and protect it.

He clarified that one is a private ivy-wannabe, he thought they were public at first. I think that's Miami.

UNC gets left out as the big surprise, there are going to be too many road blocks from the North Carolina legislature and keeping the ACC in tact with Tobacco Road teams together means so much to the state financially. They lose all of that if UNC leaves.
