CFP Quarterfinals: OSU vs Oregon

Yea i can see them portal to osu. They kicking themselves
Lightfoot I think more likely to portal. My impression of that fight with Barrow was a guy who wasn't playing and was leaving was clowning on Barrow and the D and Barrow rightly took offense to it. Hope I'm way off on that, as Lightfoot is super talented and while we have 2 similar speed rushers in his class in Pickett and Rudolph they're not Lightfoot

Ed Oliver types
That’s why Scott is good but he’s not generational Ala smith
yea generational guys get you wins and they play immediately, even not generational.....elite cfb players play day 1 most of the time unless they are sitting behind 1st rounders. The Bama wr played day 1 with a stacked bama roster, hes a day 1 player.

if Scott is as good as Jeremiah (a top 5 pick) at his position, there is no way Mario could keep him off the field in year 1. Him not being on the field alot says it all IMO. Because if you are a phenom you cant keep those types off the field not even Saban kept those types off the field.
Who is ever said Justin Scott is a potential top five pick? Who with any credibility?

I’d like to see a list of true freshmen defensive tackles over the last five years who started or were in the rotation at the top programs in the country.

OSU should have never been the 8th seed. It was a joke to have them playing Oregon this early in the playoffs.
Yeah but like us not making it, it’s their fault. They lost two games this year. One to an unranked depleted Michigan squad.

we took Scott and lightfoot from Chicago. Scott was a high 5 star and lightfoot a high 4 star.
I get that. But they can come into Miami and take our best kids, we can't go into the entire state of Ohio and take one of theirs...that ****es me off

I agreed they lost him (OSU) but JS is a bigger loss than any of those guys and its not close.

Ryan Williams is an elite talent no question, but Alabama’s wide receiver room was trash. He didn’t have to walk in and take plays from the guys that played with Tua or Mac Jones. Bama’s best wide receiver prior to Williams was Jamison (Lions) and he transferred from Ohio State.

this is true

Oh no argument there. Jeremiah Smith is the biggest recruiting loss I can remember. As big a loss or even bigger than Amari Cooper, Jeury Judy, and Calvin Ridley. Worst part is they’re all local.

As far as Ohio State goes yes they lost out on Justin Scott, Lightfoot, Jordan Lyle, and Mark Fletcher before that but they had guys just like them already playing or just kept recruiting.

THAT

Mario was brought in to stop that and he even cant do it

Ok that’s different then if he’s unhappy there under Day. I wouldn’t call it a poach in the traditional sense but it would be massive to get anyone like that.

@301cane no need to break my back and make me humble 🤣
Nah, no worries. I'm just going off the theory that pretty much anybody worth a **** had to be better than what we had this year and if we identify someone, make them an offer and make them say no, whoever it may be.

good luck. I'd go with OSU over Texas. Only thing is OSU might be on a hangover for this revenge victory.
I’m not a believe in OSU like you I’ve watched them all year JJ is saving them offensively he bails them out . I think Texas defense can get the job done it’s the offense. I’m unsure off. They defense has stepped it up the last two games I’ll give them that but Nico trash is Gabriel

I'm not arguing that fact at all. And ultimately i'm happy they got the tougher road and PSU got the easier road. But if being unbiased and taking my hatred for OSU out of the discussion, they had 2 losses, Penn State had 2 losses, both lost to Oregon but OSU beat Penn State head to head....so right there i say those 2 should have been flipped. Since PSU and Oregon just played, i'm sure the committee didn't want to see that again....which means they would have had to bump down ND, which we know they aren't going to do bc they want ND to stay in as long as they can.
