CFP Quarterfinals: OSU vs Oregon

I agree but I think in today’s climate of “don’t limit someone earnings” they’d have a better chance of winning. For my love of CFB I pray it never happen. It’s probably only been a handful of guys I can remember that could be one and done in the NFL.
The NCAA rules keep getting struck down as illegal restraints on trade because the players aren't given the opportunity to collectively bargain and agree to them. That's not the case with pro sports. It'd be like SCOTUS striking down the NFL's salary cap, which isn't going to happen

hahaha ok my dude whatever fits your narrative. that kid was never coming to Miami and there was no reason for him to pick Miami over OSU as a business decision. Miami has had plenty of recruiting misses, moreso at other positions, this isn't the one. Miami would have still lost 2 games with Smith because he doesn't play defense.
even if you are right and he was never coming lets say. If he is your target you write on your chalk board and u do everything possible to get him, then u dont and have to cross his name off that chalk board thats a miss. Thats like the draft if u have someone on the board (which is different) and they take them u miss, its something u dont have control over in the NFL cause teams choose before u. In college no one chooses before you so you get to hoard talent. We had to cross his name off thats a miss bruh especially if he was shaky on signing day cause of Miami. He considered us heavy so yes its a miss. Its not about my narrative its about reality.

one and done has ruined the NBA. pro sports is a business, not a winning lotto ticket. the leagues should be able to decide the age limit.
The NBA can decide the age limit, but need agreement with the NBA players association.

The NFL has a ‘three years out of high school limit’ as part of the collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA. One reason why a lawsuit against the rule might fail.

The only way to fix college football’s transfer portal and eventually the upcoming revenue sharing are player’s association agreements with the various conferences or a governing body representing the conferences. Like the NCAA. I don’t believe in making rules and decision decisions that affect the players without the players having a say in the matter.

see this is the problem. hes considered a miss but we flipped Justin Scott, Lightfoot, and Jordan Lyle from OSU and no one ever says OSU missed on them. It's always a narrative that miami loses and if the 5 or high 4 star comes here, its because the other school didnt want them.

Yes they did OSU missed on those guys for sure we stuffed Day in the locker, I always have that same energy. But (and this is a big but) Jeremiah is 20 times the player those guys are. He's a huge difference maker, and we dont know if those guys are as good as Jeremiah at their positions. pause

A committee putting in an Indiana team with a 106th ranked strength of schedule and a mediocre Tennessee team in over us.

The performances by both those teams in the playoffs proved that beyond any doubt.
The committee got it 100% correct putting both those teams in instead of Miami. If you are arguing for an equivalent or worse record team from the ACC getting into the playoff in front of a team from the B1G or SEC after our top two seeds got their asses whooped and we went 2-9 with four losses to mid major teams as a conference in the post season you have lost your mind and are just perma stoned on copium

I can't find the quote, maybe it was from a podcast with that Cooper guy who used to work with Mario, but I remember someone saying that Mario circled Jeremiah as "the guy" he was obssessed over getting, similar to how he felt about other guys (memory fail but I think it was Sewell and/or Kayvon). Something along those lines. Coach understood clearly how important getting Smith was and I don't think he treated it like it was a fool's errand - no chance he would come here.

the issue for me is they can come down here and take our best players but we can't go to Ohio and do the same.

we took Scott and lightfoot from Chicago. Scott was a high 5 star and lightfoot a high 4 star.

Can't even imagine what it would be like here if we went undefeated and were the #1 team/favorites to win the whole thing, only to lose by 20 in the quarterfinal to OSU.

I get it with Jeremiah but Scott has 1st round potential and it will be nice to see a coach who prefers to play him over Marley cook.
Lyle was the #1 running back in the country. Maybe the Giants will get Jeremiah and your life will be complete.

but what is the difference in recruitment? The Logo and what they university will do to get that particular player. Mario with Nike money was next level, no he has coke money and for some reason its monopoly money. Or we wont "overpay" which is ******* the stupidest **** I ever heard in my life.

if Scott is as good as Jeremiah (a top 5 pick) at his position, there is no way Mario could keep him off the field in year 1. Him not being on the field alot says it all IMO. Because if you are a phenom you cant keep those types off the field not even Saban kept those types off the field.
