CFP Quarterfinals: OSU vs Oregon

if Scott is as good as Jeremiah (a top 5 pick) at his position, there is no way Mario could keep him off the field in year 1. Him not being on the field alot says it all IMO. Because if you are a phenom you cant keep those types off the field not even Saban kept those types off the field.
DT is a much different position than WR. That being said, we had a DC who prefer Marley cook over him and CJ Clark at defensive end. Played Jaden Harris more than anyone.

even if you are right and he was never coming lets say. If he is your target you write on your chalk board and u do everything possible to get him, then u dont and have to cross his name off that chalk board thats a miss. Thats like the draft if u have someone on the board (which is different) and they take them u miss, it’s something u dont have control over in the NFL cause teams choose before u. In college no one chooses before you so you get to hoard talent. We had to cross his name off thats a miss bruh especially if he was shaky on signing day cause of Miami. He considered us heavy so yes it’s a miss. It’s not about my narrative it’s about reality.
I believe Jeremiah Smith might be wearing orange and green had Cam signed with Miami prior to NSD. Without Cam Miami was close but missed. Smith made a decision. Miami almost had to start a scout team quarterback in the bowl game against Rutgers. Fortunately Jaccuri agreed to stay and play, maybe for pay.

I don’t think Jeremiah should have come to Miami because he’s a local kid and owed it to the school or some bull****. So what Miami offered the biggest bag? He chose Ohio State who has been pumping out first round wide receivers for several years. He showed up and took over in Spring Practice.

I'm not arguing anything...I'm telling you lol ...they made this system not knowing the pac 12 was going to implode and Texas would jump. For the 3rd time, had all of that not happened Boise wouldn't of gotten a bye. If they made this system last year they would of done away with bye weeks for conference champions

Sighhhhh;

I really need to stop going back & forth on certain things, but u’re missing the point & I must stress this.

The CFP stated in 2022 that the Top 6 conference champions would get auto bids w/ the Top 4 ranked conference champions receiving byes, & 6 at large. Under ur scenario, that would’ve meant:

The PAC-12 would get an auto bid
The ACC would get an auto bid
The SEC would get an auto bid
The B1G would get an auto bid
The Big 12 would get an auto bid
The highest ranked G5 conference winner would get an auto bid

+ 6 at large bids primarily from w/in the P5. That was supposed to start or be implanted in 2025-6.

The PAC-12 imploded & the CFP decided to move up the timeline to the 2024-5 season. The ONLY adjustment was changing it from 6 auto bids to 5 since the PAC-12 imploded. Texas & OU announced their move to SEC BEFORE the CFP discussed expanding to 12.

So let’s go back to the P5, & let’s use ur example:

PAC-12: Oregon (#1)
SEC: UGA (#2)
B1G: OSU (#3)
Boise State (#4)

The ACC & The Big XII STILL would’ve been ranked outside the Top 4, brotha.

So who’s playing Oregon in Rd 1?

Teams 5-12

5. Iowa St???
6. UT
7. PSU
8. ND
9. Tenn
10. IU
11. SMU
12. Clemson

Winner of 8 ND v. 9 UTenn plays #1 Oregon
Winner of 5 Iowa St v. 12 Clemson plays #4 Boise State
Winner of #10 IU v. # 7 PSU plays #2 UGA
Winner of #11 SMU v. # 6 UT plays #3 OSU

This is STILL BULL ****.
In the AP ND ranked #3 & UTenn ranked #7.

So what are we talking about? That’s y I said ur point is moot, b/c regardless of the PAC-12 collapsing, the top 4 highest seeded conference champion would’ve had a bye. Boise would’ve received a bye regardless if the PAc-12 was still around. They just would’ve went from #3 to #4. A #1 team rewarded facing a top 7 team next round is complete & utter bull ****, period.

rumor was they offered more last minute and changed the deal and we let it happen and didnt offer up. That was the rumor they paid more I got DM's that say he got more, they reworked his deal that was the hold up. They got the most money and did what they had to do to win a natty.

this isn't the NFL draft. its recruiting or Free agency. the player picks you. call it a miss if you wish but it wasn't because of malpractice by Mario. He was all in recruiting him. He is on a roster littered with high caliber athletes and will be playing for titles for his 3yrs of college. he chose wisely

PSU had the easiest road to the final 4 bruh lol I said that the minute I saw the final playoff bracket. They got gifted a final 4 spot

see this is the problem. hes considered a miss but we flipped Justin Scott, Lightfoot, and Jordan Lyle from OSU and no one ever says OSU missed on them. It's always a narrative that miami loses and if the 5 or high 4 star comes here, its because the other school didnt want them.
I don’t think anybody says OSU didn’t want those three players. The issue is Ohio State doesn’t desperately need those three players.

he did choose wisely I wont lie about it. Agree to disagree a miss is a miss IMO. If you get rewarded and praised for bringing them in, then the same energy should be implemented when they dont get them.

I had heard that we had the highest offer. If we didn’t, and they outbid us at the very end, then we got what we paid for.
