Carson Beck

Based on the language in the tweets (repair and not reconstruction) and the timeline, it sounds like he got the same procedure as Brock Purdy. They used the same doctor, too.

Purdy was injured at the end of January and ended up finishing 4th in MVP voting that season. Here is an article on the specific surgery, which is different than Tommy John:

My family is heavy Dawgs, alums, Big Dawgs and such. Always thought Carson was a f**king weasel. But, an effective QB for Kirby”s offense. Sorry to hear this but watching the injury, yeah bad. UGA, will persist, and win with the next pencil neck weasel they throw out there. Hope Carson recovers.

Maybe I’m crazy - hold the comments - but Beck might be an option if medicals check out and realistically will be ready to go next summer. NIL valuation would probably be depressed and have Emory in reserve if he’s not ready. Rough year at Georgia, but he’s a first round talent if healthy and has success in our system.
Also believe his elbow was an issue prior to SEC championship game. He could be seen shaking his arm at times and definitely tweaked it in GT game.
Maybe too risky, but worth considering.

Are you going to give Mario a pass if we pay $2 million for Beck and his arm never returns to form? Seems like a risky move to me.
are there other options? as of now it's emory or Mendoza - if ewers or beck enter it's them too, but that's it really that have been floated out there

also idk if we're in a situation collective wise to where we're pinching pennies enough to where our QB money takes away from other position groups

Beck was good last year (2023). However, he really became a "this guy is going to throw a pick to lose this one, isn't he?" guy. Hard times and tough to get over.

Nothing like a rehab stint with nothing to lose on South Beach to help get over.

No one will expect us or see us coming. We could turn this guy into South Beach Joe Namath. Both Cavinders on his arms.

Hopefully don’t have to spend 2 million, but times are crazy.
Issue to consider is we open with ND and have the Gators early. Do you want to throw Emory out there with almost no experience surrounded by a bunch of new faces. Our three most experienced TEs are gone. Our 4 top WRs are gone. Yeah, we recruited some talent, but it’s gonna take time. Without an experienced QB it’s a potential ****show.

Certified Hand Therapist here ✋️. If Beck doesn't have any setbacks, he should be ready to throw come Spring. Full clearance by summer. Great surgeons Iike Elattrache, and the others I work with, reanchor the ligament so it's less likely to have long term affects in throwers.

Too much risk IMO

Give me Beck 🤷‍♂️. He raises the floor no matter what. Realistically should win be QB one but if nothing else pushes Emory to another level
Come on man. I'm not a fan of Beck but he'd still be better than Emory if he had to have his right arm amputated.

Whoever they bring in is being brought in to start. Emory is a backup QB. There's no new level to push him to. He has too many limitations. If he threatens to transfer, where's he gonna go? He's lucky to be at Miami.

Not an Emory fan but I'm also not counting him out based off of his freshman snaps. We literally had a no star recruit originating from Incarnate Word almost win the Heisman. Just saying you never know 🤷‍♂️

and less of a threat to Emory and his development

Kid knows he’s leaving because the Georgia staff was told his surgery was January 2nd lol

I had 2 analysts/recruiting staffers tell me that they thought he was still in Jacksonville and waiting his appointment
Could be on his way to Boulder when the staff is on their way to see him... oh wait
