Carson Beck

Stockton opened things up because of his legs and the threat. Not sure what it matters if the offense was better when he came in. I mean Beck is the veteran. The veteran who looks bad just as much as he does good. He’s a walking rollercoaster.
Change of pace that Texas struggled with in the moment. Obviously brings energy lacking in Beck’s demeanor. Really curious to see what happens against an ND defense with time to prepare for Stockton.

Maybe. But ... Beck benefits from playing for awhile on the national stage, while Emory is an unknown except to Canes fans.
if beck indeed transfers and we somehow get him, he also would be best prepared for ND as they are playing this weekend and he's most certainly still in all planning and prep - even with the injury

Don't think he's even been with the team since his injury.

i watched 7 UGA games - you're using 1 example of when stockton came in to diminish someone who's easily a top 5 QB in the country

of course UGA fans hate him, they are spoiled and want to win every game. they'll burn down athens if they have to get used to losing 2-3 games per year rather than winning 20+ straight

you also said "turnover machine"

beck has less turnovers than cam did in his last season at Wazzu (including fumbles) - while playing significantly better competition

beck isn't ward, but it's not like beck is jameis and throwing 30tds and 30 picks out there

Anias Smith did him no favors, was good for a drop a game

Is there a good QB in the country?

In the past week, I’ve heard Beck sucks, Ewers sucks, Milroe sucks, Nuss sucks. These are draft prospects and household names. They have faults but they are way better than what the average P4 team is throwing out there.

Nope, If they aren’t Marino then they suck

That’s how CIS works

Beck is the name we’re waiting on, huh? Way too many hints being dropped around here.

I guess it makes sense:

His girlfriend plays basketball at UM, right?

We recruited him hard out of high school.

The pressure of playing QB at UGA has to be insane, especially following a guy who won a national championship. A change of scenery at UM might be best for both parties.

I think Mendoza is a better fit, but I’m starting to connect the dots here. We’re probably waiting to see how severe the injury is.

Someone who is connected is welcome to debunk this post.

I think you can say both that these four guys are draftable AND that they might not be the best fit for Miami. Speaking only for myself, it’s a wasted exercise because the ideal QB is a Kurtis rourke or Sam leavitt type — which is to say the guy who ends up being the best transfer QB isn’t always the obvious top guy in December.

- Beck is just straight up bad cost-performance. He's not a great Qb. But he's good. Ultimately you don't get 1st round hype like he was getting if you suck that badly, at least not usually as a 5th year junior lol. Not even close to being worth what he likely would want NIL wise, and add on his MAJOR injury, and it's an auto pass where we shouldn't even consider him tbh.
- Ewers is less bad, but not much above average BECAUSE of him likely having one of the higher NIL packages. Ultimately I think he'd at minimum be good in our offense. Will he be great? Probably not especially in big moments. And that's the problem could likely get relatively similar production out of far cheaper guys. Why go for Ewers over Chandler Morris?
- Milroe can barely throw. You can absolutely win in college with him. No idea what his NIL market really is. I'd expect him to be among the most likely to declare for the draft and/or the least likely to enter the portal.
- Nussmeier is legit pretty good, and I don't even think he's all that crazy expensive. I'd absolutely take Nuss. But he also seems like a guy that has zero intention on transferring even after Kelly has thrown him under the bus multiple times. Dude seems to love LSU.
- Miller Moss is good, and also likely didn't command a very large NIL package. I also am not so sure him ultimately getting benched was really all his fault, though it's certainly not a good look when the portal Qb you're trying to add gets benched, especially since it was lincoln riley who has had like 3 Heisman winners under him. But I'd lean a bit towards it being maybe Riley doesn't do as well with straight up pocket passers who are less mobile. Ultimately I think Moss will probably play extremely well at Louisville under Brohm, and probably would have been pretty good here as well.
- Maalik Murphy is just straight up a below average passer.
- Darian Mensah certainly has potential. I'd say he's good and likely didn't cost all that much. But clearly staff didn't reach out, and him ending up at Duke is an indication he didn't have a whole bunch of believers among the top CFB programs.
- Jackson Arnold perhaps the best talent of the bunch, but straight sucked **** this year at OU. Likely it was due to the situation around him sucking. But who knows, it's also possible that could have been a severe setback for him. However he very likely also commanded a pretty large NIL figure, and Auburn was spending big. I think the risk to cost ratio would have been very large.

The guys that make the most sense are Mendoza, Chandler Morris (cost to performance wise), Caden Veltkamp (if we are trying to have a true competition with Emory/Nickel cause we missed on the TOP guys), And then other guys that haven't entered can all be discussed...

Aren't most of those Qbs being forced out from their current teams?

Nuss is better than all of the others combined
