- Beck is just straight up bad cost-performance. He's not a great Qb. But he's good. Ultimately you don't get 1st round hype like he was getting if you suck that badly, at least not usually as a 5th year junior lol. Not even close to being worth what he likely would want NIL wise, and add on his MAJOR injury, and it's an auto pass where we shouldn't even consider him tbh.
- Ewers is less bad, but not much above average BECAUSE of him likely having one of the higher NIL packages. Ultimately I think he'd at minimum be good in our offense. Will he be great? Probably not especially in big moments. And that's the problem could likely get relatively similar production out of far cheaper guys. Why go for Ewers over Chandler Morris?
- Milroe can barely throw. You can absolutely win in college with him. No idea what his NIL market really is. I'd expect him to be among the most likely to declare for the draft and/or the least likely to enter the portal.
- Nussmeier is legit pretty good, and I don't even think he's all that crazy expensive. I'd absolutely take Nuss. But he also seems like a guy that has zero intention on transferring even after Kelly has thrown him under the bus multiple times. Dude seems to love LSU.
- Miller Moss is good, and also likely didn't command a very large NIL package. I also am not so sure him ultimately getting benched was really all his fault, though it's certainly not a good look when the portal Qb you're trying to add gets benched, especially since it was lincoln riley who has had like 3 Heisman winners under him. But I'd lean a bit towards it being maybe Riley doesn't do as well with straight up pocket passers who are less mobile. Ultimately I think Moss will probably play extremely well at Louisville under Brohm, and probably would have been pretty good here as well.
- Maalik Murphy is just straight up a below average passer.
- Darian Mensah certainly has potential. I'd say he's good and likely didn't cost all that much. But clearly staff didn't reach out, and him ending up at Duke is an indication he didn't have a whole bunch of believers among the top CFB programs.
- Jackson Arnold perhaps the best talent of the bunch, but straight sucked **** this year at OU. Likely it was due to the situation around him sucking. But who knows, it's also possible that could have been a severe setback for him. However he very likely also commanded a pretty large NIL figure, and Auburn was spending big. I think the risk to cost ratio would have been very large.
The guys that make the most sense are Mendoza, Chandler Morris (cost to performance wise), Caden Veltkamp (if we are trying to have a true competition with Emory/Nickel cause we missed on the TOP guys), And then other guys that haven't entered can all be discussed...
