No doubt the potential for the 26 class is huge and I would expect it to be great, unless there are some major **** ups.

The problem is this. You can NEVER compete for anything of real signifigance if you have a drop off in recruiting like this year. This is exactly how you don't bulid depth. And when you factor in Mario brings absolutely no value as an actual coach, and his staffs so far have been average at best, it makes the problem even more glaring.

Mario legitimately needs top 5 talent to win anything of real signifigance year in and year out and he will never accomplish that. His classes are always unbalanced and from his time at Oregon to now at Miami, he ends up having classes like this one. It's simply not good enough to make up for all the other deficiencies. I mean, he has lost 9 games as a double digit favorite going back to his Oregon games, by far the worst in the country. He is the epitome of doing less with more.
Yeah I’m not one to just say “oh next year is when we fix it” type person

Just saying the pieces are there. I said last season it was the most important off season in my fandom (maybe since probation) and not to be dramatic but maybe this one is given who we need to replace and continue this “trajectory” Mario has been selling

Not sure how it plays out but I have concerns

I think for Mario to reach the heights we want, he might want to take a page out of Saban’s coaching playbook. Saban oftentimes brought on ex-head coaches and let them cook. He was on them for results too. Saban was secure in himself though that he didn’t force his way onto the coordinators. Is Mario secure in himself to bring in guys like Mullen and Muschamp and let them run the show? I can’t help but think Mario has influenced Dawson’s playcalling/scheme to incoporate Mario’s prefefrences. But you bring in guys like Mullen/Muschamp, you won’t get that level of say in.

I only say this because we may have an opening at DC and/or OC (if Dawson gets a HC job). The opportuntiy will be there to reset the types of coordinators we will look for. And the right coordinator can do some serious damage, even without top 5 talent.

Those guys didn’t feel like they knew more or were better coaches than Saban. I can’t see Mullen, Sark, Daboll working under Mario
