Canes ranked 12th tonight

Maybe I am confused...if Clemson beats SMU by 35, can we not "sneak in" at #12? Or does the ******* G5 knock us out no matter what?
Thanks,

nope. We will have no new metric to measure.... The only possibility is Bama gets bumped but if it's that big a blowout, clemson will get the only bid.

I think another reason for not getting in is the committee viewed us and our defense in the same manner as they viewed fsu last year without Jordan Travis.

I expected the committee was going to treat the VT game as a loss. Cal was a scrappy road win but having to win at home on a ref’s call was effectively an L in their eyes. And while we loved seeing UM go into the 4th quarter tied with bad teams and then pulling away to win by 2-3 TDs, the committee did think it was as impressive as we did.

Too bad the committee doesn't care. They showed last year they'll just do whatever they want with no repercussions
Technically, it was specifically spelled out when the 4 team playoff was created that the committee could exclude teams based on major injuries that would affect their competitive level. FSU fell into that exclusion quite plainly with Travis getting injured in the last couple of games.

I'm not aware of any such exclusion in this 12 team playoff, plus Miami has no major injuries at this time anyway. This looks like $EC favoritism all the way.

Dammit man.. I’m numb to the fact of this program letting me down. But my son who is 7 just asked if we made it … I told him no..and he quietly walked upstairs in tears. I asked what’s the matter? He said “I really wanted to see Cam Ward again”. Did I curse him when I made him a fan of our fateful Canes? 😕

If so, false equivalence. Miami's defense has been there all year, played the same way, and Miami STILL won 10 games. FSU lost Travis in the last couple games of the year. The committee had an out for such a situation as I mentioned in another post. Not so in this case.

Yes

No, it would be Ole Miss, USCe, or any other inbred team they can find.
USCe I dont mind. I called bama being in when they lost to OU so it doesn't matter or make me upset that theyre in. they ranked them in a perfect spot post OU.

******* Mario and Guidry. all you had to do was essentially 2/3 and you **** the bed

FSU also won 2 games (at UF and ACCCG) with their backup. the committee ranked them 4th entering the ACCCG and after winning, they dropped them out. FSU was getting ****ed over regardless. they actually got penalized for winning the conf with their backup vs not playing at all (see bama).
