Its not even CIS. Honestly, I feel like most CIS was against Emory bein QB1. If you go anywhere else in social media like youtube that's where you see a large Emory crowd. The comment sections were strongly pro Emory being QB1 over any portal QB except Mateer.

It's something I actually noticed & mentioned in the post game recap for the Clemson game when he made his first start.

I figured by now they would have fixed it, but it's clear his throwing mechanics are irreparable.

I knew there was a reason I smelled Bullsh*t on that whole, "Emory is really QB2, but they're redshirting him & would only play him in case of emergency" narrative that popped up back in September.

The whole explanation was always illogical.

Honestly if you have just a basic understanding of the QB position it was easy to tell right away in 2023 that Emory just wasn’t the guy. First off he doesn’t have a D1 arm, every pass has very little zip on it. 2nd he struggles reading the field and is constantly late on his reads with poor mechanics . 3rd his pocket presence is horrendous he looks like a deer in headlights. Look at how calm Cam is when he’s back there before and after the snap. It’s why he’s able to do the things he does because he remains calm at all times and doesn’t let the defense or situation bother him. Now with Emory it’s the exact opposite, he’s so nervous that he gives the people watching him anxiety.


It’s not always easy to scout a QB and determine if he’s good or not but it’s incredibly easy to determine if they are bad, it reveals itself pretty quick. I said a few weeks ago that Emory is the kind of QB that sits for 4 years and then maybe you give him a shot as Senior to be a bridge QB. Unfortunately Emory is even worse than TVD and if we start him in 2025 we will be in a FSU situation and will have a losing season. Hopefully we can pull off a miracle in the portal.

I wanna know what that narrative was built on.

What had people believing he was the future? I've asked multiple times and nobody can explain that pov. I've not gotten a single answer.

You'd hope so. But I wouldn't be shocked if Mario figured he'd get his guy like he did last year.

I just don't understand it either. Unless the pricetags were too high.

I'm thinking $1 million for Melendez is a bargain right now

Ok, Emory isn’t it and our DC should be in the portal by morning. We have gone a full season without figuring out how to defend off tackle and outside run game. No one can be that inept and still be employed.
 
After State scored the last TD when everyone started calling out for CAM, some UM staff looked back at us and shook their heads in disapproval! Gestured for us to stop doing it!
That was an awful display of leadership, understanding and decision making by #17!

Yeeesssss that throw was awful. He threw it quick cause he lacked the arm strength on a deep ball and that **** went two feet off the ground. I was like bro that throw will tell you he isn’t a quality qb. That one throw told me everything when I saw it but most people just see a touchdown. Casuals see a TD that’s it

Agree, but saying it was “painful” is far, far too kind. It was disastrous. It was beyond shameful. It was absolute proof that without Cam, our Hurricanes would have been 7-5 this year AT BEST. Without Cam, Mario would have had no better record than Manny, but have cost us millions more, for nothing. And in his fourth $8 Million year as head coach, Mario will be lucky, absolutely lucky, to produce anything better than an 8-4 record next year.

I think its more cause Emory was a kid we recruited out of HS. A lot of people still haven't adapted to the portal era and still believe in developing our own guys out of High School. That's all I got cause Emory has shown nothing to be given the keys for QB1.

They talked about it during the game. You could hear the crowd chanting his name. DOn't blame the crowd, they wanted to see their team win the game. Once Emory came in the game we gave up on the game
