Can we stop with the Emory is QB1 Talk now.

Wait...did we recruit Emory to be the starter? I was always under the impression we gave him the "chance to compete" pitch, but I never penciled him as a d1 starter. Same with TVD, and basically, everyone since Jacory Harris.
He was supposed to be the #2 QB in the class with Rashada. After the Rashada debacle, I was fine with just taking him provided we signed someone significant in the next class. We didn’t. We signed another project type in Judd Anderson while ignoring a local kid who was begging for an offer. That kid is already the starter at NC State and Judd Anderson isn’t even capable of taking snaps in a live action game yet. I like the Nickel kid but we definitely aren’t running a true freshman out against Notre Dame in week one next year. We better be tempering like a mother in the portal right now for a QB. We can be a good offense with just a pretty good quarterback next year.

Can we stop with the Emory is QB1 Talk now.....yes

Season 5 Ghost GIF by Power

At least this abysmal performance will force Mario to be desperate in the portal.

Pick your guy, and give a number that nobody will say no to.

Otherwise, you risk your career next season.
Maybe dip into his own salary if that's what it takes. Desperate times for mario. I imagine 2025 is gna be an important yr. If miami back slides and has an average to below average year I think Mario's seat starts to get pretty hot

This is such a Red herring.

We didn't have to wait for Emory to have a bad game, because he's had nothing but bad games against P4 teams.

The truth is, he didn't play well against Clemson. At least 7 of his 9 incompletions were dirt balls. He threw the ball 33 times that game for a whopping 151yds. Do you know how bad you have to be to throw the ball 33 times & only accumulate 150yds??? That means all you're doing is dinking & dunking.

Then when he played the FSU game he was even WORSE. His throws were absolutely HORRENDOUS that game. But all everybody ever talked about was, "hiS gUtSy pLaY! hE BrOkE hiS aRm!!!".

That's been the narrative surrounding Emory, that he was this really smart tough gUtSy QB who has been redshirting & just needed an opportunity. People kept trying to sell us on the idea that he could be a game manager & the Offense would be fine with Em. That all we needed to do was just run the ball, play safe conservative Offense & we would win because the Defense would magically improve. That was the narrative & NO I didn't pull that out of thin air, there are DOZENS of posts from people on here echoing that exact sentiment.

The problem was, his porous play, lack of arm talent & irreparable throwing mechanics have been there & been identified from DAY 1. But people just ignored it & called everyone mopes/haters for not believing the propaganda.

No one was rooting for Emory to fail. Some of us KNEW he was going to fail because he's simply not good enough. HE DOESN'T HAVE IT.

Stop calling into question people's fandom just because they're not delusional & believe in all the propagated Horsesh*t that comes outta GreenTree.

Our eyes work, our brains work; IF WE SEE BAD PLAY, WE CAN CALL IT THAT.

I mean that comment was made in the 3rd quarter. Lol obviously we saw when Emory had to throw he was trash. But I don’t get putting him in a bowl game and playing conservative until the final minute. It’s a bowl game.
This is 100% true. They knew he was going to play at least a half. they had an entire month to dial up an offense he could succeed with. Obviously aren't going to run the same stuff that you do with Cam. Just an utter disaster all around

Yea Rosier's tweet is a manipulative attempt to shield himself from criticism.

I'm pretty sure at halftime when Emory came in, Rosier tweeted something along the lines that he will be pulling receipts on ppl who have not believed in Emory and don't be a fan later type ****.

The audacity to post that, and then post this weak *** tweet after Emory's performance.

I wish I was wrong. I wish Emory was the QB that some people want him to be. I want us to have great quarterbacks. But I wasn’t. He’s not. And right now we don’t have a good, let alone great quarterback.

He’s not even a game manager who can keep us in games while relying on the running game.

He BeAt ClEmSoN, bRo!!!!

Rosier only like Emory because he makes him look good in hindsight. Nah, Malik. You weren’t the worst QB we’ve had in decades.

Yeah I was hoping against hope he would look decent yesterday, or at least serviceable. That game was totally winnable and he **** the bed.

He’s practiced and been in this offense for two whole years miss me with the excuses

Cam was cooking with the same group … to throw for less than 20 yards is embarrassing
Cam also came in with 53 prior college games played. Practice is not the same, and you know it. Plus, Cam had the entire playbook at his disposal, which Emory clearly did not.

Not making excuses, just stating facts. I'm not saying Emory's the guy. He did not look great yesterday. But he was thrust into a highly competitive game ice-cold with zero game play time this year, and Dawson reverting to conservative play calling.

Any chance Emory had at being QB1 went out the window with this post. When he sees this or hears about it from a third or fourth party he won't recover.

Miami needs a two quarterbacks from the portal. A Cam Ward doesn’t come along very often but need a solid starter who needs to be more than a game manager. A second quarterback who can accept the back up role. Somebody who can actually throw the ball.

These two can be a bridge for Luke Nickel.

Emory can leave. No idea about Judd Anderson so I don’t know what he has to offer.

People were talking crazy

Are you joking? You know what Emory doesn’t do? Fumble inside the 20 or throw an incredibly stupid pick 6. So correct he won’t make the same flashy plays, but that is in BOTH directions. No way you can say we loose to VT and Cal with Williams as he wouldn’t cause the turnovers Ward did that put us in those positions. That was my only concern with Cam and I am still concerned. Need to protect the ball better. Funny how everyone jumped on TVD for his turnovers but look the other way at Cam’s. Winning does cure all evils I guess.

Keep doubting this kid. He’ll show you next year when he snaps his femur trying to run for 4 yards on 4th down after his 3rd down pass got batted down at the LOS despite being 6 inches taller than everyone else. We might lose, we might not even score 20 points, but by god he’ll take the checkdowns and his teammates will love him.
