This is such a Red herring.
We didn't have to wait for Emory to have a bad game, because he's had nothing but bad games against P4 teams.
The truth is, he didn't play well against Clemson. At least 7 of his 9 incompletions were dirt balls. He threw the ball 33 times that game for a whopping 151yds. Do you know how bad you have to be to throw the ball 33 times & only accumulate 150yds??? That means all you're doing is dinking & dunking.
Then when he played the FSU game he was even WORSE. His throws were absolutely HORRENDOUS that game. But all everybody ever talked about was, "hiS gUtSy pLaY! hE BrOkE hiS aRm!!!".
That's been the narrative surrounding Emory, that he was this really smart tough gUtSy QB who has been redshirting & just needed an opportunity. People kept trying to sell us on the idea that he could be a game manager & the Offense would be fine with Em. That all we needed to do was just run the ball, play safe conservative Offense & we would win because the Defense would magically improve. That was the narrative & NO I didn't pull that out of thin air, there are DOZENS of posts from people on here echoing that exact sentiment.
The problem was, his porous play, lack of arm talent & irreparable throwing mechanics have been there & been identified from DAY 1. But people just ignored it & called everyone mopes/haters for not believing the propaganda.
No one was rooting for Emory to fail. Some of us KNEW he was going to fail because he's simply not good enough. HE DOESN'T HAVE IT.
Stop calling into question people's fandom just because they're not delusional & believe in all the propagated Horsesh*t that comes outta GreenTree.
Our eyes work, our brains work; IF WE SEE BAD PLAY, WE CAN CALL IT THAT.
(Not yelling at you OP, just at that Tweet lol)
