Cam Ward finishes a distant 4th in the Heisman

These awards are what they are. Just popularity contests more than anything. There is no way in the world Hunter was the best defender in college football. There were probably 10 players at a minimum better. Yet the Heisman hype train won him that award as well. I was also reminded that rarely does the best player win when I saw Eric Crouch on the podium instead of McGahee. It’s all politics man. Always was always will be.

Joke… fine the media decided a dude who is a “very good” WR and an average Corner deserves the heisman

Oregon is B1G now. They get way more media push than any ACC team will. To be honest, after the Syracuse loss I was a little worried Heisman committee would find an excuse not to invite Ward, especially after we missed the ACC championship game and playoffs. Laughable they put Gabriel over Ward, but doesn’t really matter. Ward will still be the #1 or 2 pick overall.

Journalism malpractice to vote Gabriel above Cam. Might as well say the #1 teams qb automatically gets a spot. Glad Cam got the invite to NY and had another opportunity to showcase himself and the U
 
This award changes it’s narrative on a yearly basis, so not surprised at all.
I know this is SUPPOSED to be an individual award, but I would bet our defense was ultimately the biggest culprit in why Cam finished behind Gabriel.

We would have had to finish undefeated to beat out Hunter and Jeanty.
