C.J Henderson

Unfortunately RS issues was qb. As big of a Harris fan as I was, he was the weaklink. 3 of our losses in 09 was on him. 2010 his spirit was broken and he was injured but our defense was strong enough to compete with the best. RS had some signature wins, qb just didn't take the next step. He had some serious flaws but it wasn't that bad.

Mark Whipple was a terrible OC

He had 2 back 2 back Mr. Florida Foobtall players at QB.

Would it be stretch to get the Onion back coaching LB's for us? Diaz is doing double duty as DC and LB coach. Why not? Im sure we can match or come close enough to get him?

**** him if he recruited half of what he does now he'd still be the head coach. He threw his cane card out my window a long *** time ago

These guys all recruited the same.....its the school and the structure $$$. U cant tell me dude learned how to recruit just now its something else

Yall are tripping if you think onion is just now learning how to recruit. His problem with us as head coach is he **** on the state as a whole and just went to the places he had heavy relationships. He flat out ignored coaches & recruits at alot of schools that were just now fixing the bridges he burnt (hello central) but before he became a head coach he won national awards twice for recruiting. He was a beast. But **** onion & any crazy idea of him coming back. Everyone hates Mario for far less (& most of it because they don't know the actual story behind him leaving) I agree it would be great to have a dedicated lb coach but we already at our limit.

His issues weren't QB. That same QB harris did amazing his senior year here under Golden.

Randy Shannon's issue was he couldn't coach for s.hit. Have you guys really forgotten how bad we were Shannon's last few years?? lol

The man said it wouldn't be a failure one year if we failed to win the coastal.

F Randy Shannon!

Diaz took 3 true freshmans LBs and made them a strength on our D, and you guys want him to give up coaching LBs? LULZ. It never ends. He's done an absolutely remarkable with 3 true freshmans LBs.

He's done an amazing job! Better than any of us could've ever hoped for. My only thoughts on a lb coach is for 1 that doesn't keep Manny away from getting his time in with them regardless. That's what a good DC does. But to get a top notch elite lb coach who could be dedicated to nothing but them and getting the most out of them would be great. Either way it's not gonna happen so it's irrelevant. We're not switching up the staff.

Nah. Onions problems were plenty but I'd disagree about the qb being one of them. Jacory had his moments good & bad. Onion had 2 real problems as a head coach. #1 he had no clue how to delegate with the staff. He tried to be the alpha on everything to the point where he would get in the way at the worst of times. He was a horrible joke of an offensive mind & that doesn't really mesh with the Patrick nix of the world. I strongly disagree Whipple was a problem. He wasn't as good as fisch but if onion would've got out of his way you would've seen that explosive spread offense everyone wanted. #2 & an even bigger problem to me is talent be damned he had his kids that he was playing regardless of good or not. Had the team constantly divided as a result of that & lost the whole teams respect. Can't play that **** as a head coach. It's one thing to do it as a unit and run off Willie Williams it's another to do it as a head coach. By the way that's the exact reason Bryce brown ended up going to Tennessee instead of us cause he found out through Arthur the head games that onion would play.

He was offered an olive branch but it wasn't by golden. Dimare wanted Mario back on staff. So golden brought him back but with instant friction & pressure to build his group up while staying to Golden's pr guidelines. Golden refused to ever let the staff speak about anything other than his approved dialogue. Anyone that knows Mario knows all of this was just a way to set him up as a scapegoat. Mario is very vocal to say the least & expressed his opinions from the start internally. So when Saban came a few weeks in and all this nonsense already occurring offering him more than two times his salary here & freedom to do his thing while learning under a real staff Mario jumped at it. With remorse but he took it. Who wouldn't knowing that situation. Who wants to be some morons scapegoat. But to me it's insane that people hate Mario now. Mario was very close to being on this staff. I wonder how that would've been recieved.

I think the consistently frustrating thing about Shannon was during games where Shannon would blow through his timeouts seemingly by the middle of the 1st quarter. His game management was horrible.

Also, he never really held Jacory responsible at any point given that J12 could throw 3 picks in a game on average and you'd never hear about any QB competition. Also, his freshman year, Marve always started the first half of the game where the offense couldn't do ****, then comes Jacory and he throws around 150-200 yards in one half.

Problem with Jacory was that he never developed under Randy. One of the few bright spots of the Golden era was Jedd Fisch who did wonders with Jacory his senior year.

It's so sad. Our fanbase likes to out smart themselves just to have alumnus on the coaching staff.

Dammit man.....get me Mario back. So Fla is locked down with him here and it puts a big crack into the Bama pipeline

Yeah.......has nothing to do with him actually selling Bama as a program. You put any other coach in his recruiting position and they'd likely get similar results. Some of you guys are strange with holding up Mario to such a high level.

Randy got flack for his "recruiting" because he almost never left his comfort home of Dade and only then did he only focus on some schools. When he was an assistant, he almost never was sent to land the big fish.

Ok, JH was never amazing. He had a nice senior year because he finally got an OC that didn't ask him to throw long every 3rd play. I think he had a lot of potential but never had anyone to help him cut down on the INTs until his senior year.

Mario is a bum n that story is a clown show. Lol @ HE LEFT to go to saban of all people because of MICROMANAGING and not being able to speak about anything not approved. Newsflash..SABAN is a tyrant...that is the worst of worst with that..No tmuch of his assistant's like him. Mario did what the s.fla recruits he recruits does..he ran for a check and to front run..point blank. He's not that good of a coach for our fan base to like him anyway....he's an ol coach with a ceiling of a mid major hc.

Lol I agree I'd just take Barrow to have him as a lead recruiter who also helps with the linebackers at times since idk what he's doing now
