Miami will never be elite again that is just the reality

This is hard to argue...

As much as I hate to agree.

The internet and recruiting websites have put a spotlight on south FL that was never there in the days when we dominated.

So many amazing athletes that never got big time exposure were overlooked by all the other programs except us b/c we were the only ones who were plugged into it down here.

Especially in the 80s...

Miami rarely got the 5star players, they got 5star caliber players that were overlooked and rated low with few offers (Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, and Ray Lewis were all rated 3stars or under).

Recruiting websites have blown this thing up into a circus, especially down here in south FL.

It is very rare nowadays for an elite athlete in south FL to be overlooked.

Then you throw in the $$$$$ being offered to a lot more of these elite kids down here than you would like to believe...

We will only be able to sign elite kids from down here that grew up loving the Canes, and the further we get from our glory days, the harder that is going to become.

The kids coming out now have never seen a Hurricane team worth a ****.

It hurts, and I hate to admit it, but it almost seems like it is going to take a miracle for us to reach the mountain top again.

Just look at the teams that come down here and poach our top recruits year in and year out.

Then you hear the whispers of $$$$ being thrown at these kids (don't think for a second that Dalvin Cook, Patrick Peterson, Valentine, Sammy Watkins etc... weren't straight bought) and we can't compete with that.

Even Nevin's ***** a$$ said he could never out bid the $EC schools for top players, and if he did buy anyone, that would have been the first thing he would have told the NCAA since he was trying to bury us.

All the stuff that Nevin said happened goes on at almost every big time school, but those school's boosters would never give up that info b/c they are true fans and didn't become boosters to feel cool hanging out with football players.

But the buying of these elite level recruits no longer makes this a level playing field.

Look at the teams that don't play by the rules when it comes to recruiting...

They are usually in the top and constantly bring in top classes.

Cam Newton showed us that buying the right recruit can win you a NC, and he also showed these recruits that you can take the money, win the ****ing Heisman and the NC, get drafted #1 and nothing will go wrong.

Only thing you're sorely mistook about is in your thoughts that there's any difference exposure wise or competition wise from South Florida then to now. I played in the 90s & was raised with this program due to my father & godfathers. Since the days of Jimmy the whole nation has been after these kids. I'll tell you the true difference & quite possibly you or most won't want to hear it,but it's reality all the same. Several main factors. #1 kids in this day & age aren't raised the same. So much of South Florida football used to be kids that were crazy gifted were willing to do whatever to grind & get that life for them & theirs. Now kids the world across feel entitled for everything. They're scared to get out there & grow up. Do you realize in high school now physical education isn't even a required course... society is soft on our youths these days & it reflects mentally & physically on them as individuals. They got their cell phones & face book & Instagram. Kids are more interested in being social media celebs or Internet rappers than growing up on these fields. The rest really comes down to either bad evaluations or the fact that until recently we haven't had a staff that was willing to put in the work to bring out these kids skills. To coach them up & let that dog loose. Other than Searles who the book is still out on in my opinion, the rest of this staff can & will do the work necessary to bring these boys back.

What are your concerns with Searles?

How he relatesaid with the kids. As I've said before basically all of our o line alumni base loves this dude. But for me he's just sortve backwoods & laid back. True I don't really watch the oline at practice or have any clue bout how he is behind closed doors but to me I just don't know how he can relate to these kids & that's critical

I don't think I'd call Searels laid back at all. There's several clips on him floating around during camps where he gets on kids for not showing intensity and toughness.

Not visiting us going to visit Bama

Yep the kid knows where the money is at. Trying to get the handouts. He knows where he's going and it's not UM so might as well take advantage. 3 notorious schools for having boosters give out money to visitors, UT, Auburn, and Alabama and he visits all 3 lmao

^^^ it's funny how you guys saying Henderson looking for that money bag but when I said the same thing a week ago ppl laughed, Randy Shannon and his dad are good friends from back in the day.

Would it be stretch to get the Onion back coaching LB's for us? Diaz is doing double duty as DC and LB coach. Why not? Im sure we can match or come close enough to get him?

I'm not one to laugh at that. He knows he's going to UF, now why not take advantage of the free handouts these schools give to anyone just for the sake of making an impression.

**** him if he recruited half of what he does now he'd still be the head coach. He threw his cane card out my window a long *** time ago

Why don't you gather a list of LB's Randy recruited while he was coaching here, throw up in a bucket, then dump it over your head.

Randy was lazy with recruiting during his time at Miami. Now he's actually showing effort. That's why everyone's not happy with him. But yeah, Randy threw his Cane card out the window.

His first couple of classes were legit. That 2008 class was insane. We got **** near everyone who wasn't paid. Once everyone realized he couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag is when his recruiting tanked. He had nothing else to sell after "hope" turned into doubt.
