C.J Henderson

Diaz took 3 true freshmans LBs and made them a strength on our D, and you guys want him to give up coaching LBs? LULZ. It never ends. He's done an absolutely remarkable with 3 true freshmans LBs.

Lol I agree I'd just take Barrow to have him as a lead recruiter who also helps with the linebackers at times since idk what he's doing now

He's the Seahawks LB coach.

Oh **** now I feel stupid lol let me go in the corner lol

Yall are tripping if you think onion is just now learning how to recruit. His problem with us as head coach is he **** on the state as a whole and just went to the places he had heavy relationships. He flat out ignored coaches & recruits at alot of schools that were just now fixing the bridges he burnt (hello central) but before he became a head coach he won national awards twice for recruiting. He was a beast. But **** onion & any crazy idea of him coming back. Everyone hates Mario for far less (& most of it because they don't know the actual story behind him leaving) I agree it would be great to have a dedicated lb coach but we already at our limit.

Any chance you can shed some light on the Mario leaving story?

He was offered an olive branch but it wasn't by golden. Dimare wanted Mario back on staff. So golden brought him back but with instant friction & pressure to build his group up while staying to Golden's pr guidelines. Golden refused to ever let the staff speak about anything other than his approved dialogue. Anyone that knows Mario knows all of this was just a way to set him up as a scapegoat. Mario is very vocal to say the least & expressed his opinions from the start internally. So when Saban came a few weeks in and all this nonsense already occurring offering him more than two times his salary here & freedom to do his thing while learning under a real staff Mario jumped at it. With remorse but he took it. Who wouldn't knowing that situation. Who wants to be some morons scapegoat. But to me it's insane that people hate Mario now. Mario was very close to being on this staff. I wonder how that would've been recieved.

Mario is a bum n that story is a clown show. Lol @ HE LEFT to go to saban of all people because of MICROMANAGING and not being able to speak about anything not approved. Newsflash..SABAN is a tyrant...that is the worst of worst with that..No tmuch of his assistant's like him. Mario did what the s.fla recruits he recruits does..he ran for a check and to front run..point blank. He's not that good of a coach for our fan base to like him anyway....he's an ol coach with a ceiling of a mid major hc.

Seems short -sighted on Mario's part. Everything about Golden says this wasn't his last stop. Mario would have been interim and eventually HC had he stuck around. Either way i'm very happy with Richt and don't think after 10 months we could have been in a better position from a program standpoint. 2-3 more wins? sure, but that's a product of our talent and stage of development...

He's done an amazing job! Better than any of us could've ever hoped for. My only thoughts on a lb coach is for 1 that doesn't keep Manny away from getting his time in with them regardless. That's what a good DC does. But to get a top notch elite lb coach who could be dedicated to nothing but them and getting the most out of them would be great. Either way it's not gonna happen so it's irrelevant. We're not switching up the staff.

We're all allowed our own opinions but if you realized how much time richt has put in with our qbs (all of them) & you'd still be saying he doesn't cut it that would be insane to me. We didn't get to see the real effect having richt working with qbs will have this year but in the near future there's no one I'd rather have there. Besides to me the only real choice would be Kenny who is turning into a qb whisperer in Carolina. But until he gets at least an oc job he's not going anywhere. Most likely would just stay in the pros regardless.

I sortve agree. However I'm also a person who can't put a cap on piece of mind. He was already miserable & it was weeks in. Also as a fan base we have the ability to be real morons & not understand what we're actually seeing or put a finger on where it really comes from. It could've conceivably been horrible for his career (if u don't trust me just ask don soldinger, art Kehoe & coach swasey

Yes. Talent is the reason we lost to the only decent teams on our schedule and a 3 win Notre dame....

Another twist from swamp secrets gators247 today...

— Florida is still considered the team to beat for cornerback Christopher Henderson despite the fact he is telling media he’s unsure if the Gators will get an official visit. UF should get an official visit, and the biggest threat to possibly swipe him from the Gators continues to be Miami, the team he was previously committed to. He will take an official visit to Alabama in early January too.

I'm not saying he isn't working hard, I am sure he is. I just have a fundamental problem with the 25 year old son of the head coach getting his first real assistant job coaching our QBs.

There are at least a dozen assistant coaches with more experience and better resumes to take that job instead of little richt. I hope he succeeds, but in my eyes it's undoubtedly nepotism, which has never sat well with me. I like people to earn their positions in life. Anyways, just my opinion.

Richt got a lot, but not everything he probably wants. He made big hires on the defensive side of the ball which meant he had to make some budget hires on offense, at least until we start winning. I don't see nepotism as bad when it is cheap and I but John Richt came cheap. Is he the best in the business? No, but he has been around his dad and coaching his whole life so I would venture a guess that his base of knowledge is greater than most available hires that are 1) his age, and 2) will work for the salary I suspect he commands.

It's not even budget hires. They are paying Durand, brown and searels very well.

I have a couple points of disagreement here. First of all, Jon Richts age is important, yes, he may be more qualified than most other 25 year olds, but that's the point, he is 25. Most 25 year olds are not assistant coaches, they are grad assistants.

So comparing him to other 25 year olds is not what we should be doing, we should be comparing him to any coach who would leave their job to come be an assistant at Miami for the salary Jon is getting. I suspect Jon is making at least 150k a year. We can hire coaches for that much who have far more experience.

Look, if Richt coming here was partially contingent on bringing his son along for the ride, that's ok with me. I think it's worth it to have the elder Richt here, I'm just not going to pull punches regarding what I think of the hire of his son.

JR probably isn't the best we can get (unless he's taking a very small paycheck), but it's kinda hard to tell this early. Obviously Kayaa is largely sucking balls this season but I doubt that's all on JR. Seems to me that Kayaa's been playing long enough to get his own head straight so he can make the plays he should. I'm not buying the narrative that Kayaa just sucks...I think his head isn't right and it's effecting his play. Probably doesn't matter as the result is the same, but that's my read. I would say that the extent to which he's failed to grasp the system is on coaching while the poor throws and lack of movement in the pocket are on Kayaa. Unless JR told him not to move around too much in which case we need to replace that guy yesterday.

Fair indeed. In this instance I think it's key to remember we have several coaches on our staff in certain positions where in reality their key focus is recruiting. Thomas brown,Jon richt etc. However I would like to add Jon is a former qb who is very smart & he definitely knows what he's doing. I think he deserves a role on this staff. Also without question he did learn a lot from his position with the Broncos. He had a quality control position but clearly kept himself around the right staff.

Looks like Rick is clearly grooming his son to be the future OC here just like he did with son Mike Bobo at UGA.

I hate saban just as much as most but that's only partially true. The only position he's really hands on with is dbs in particular. He has his say in everything as all head coaches do but if you do your job up to his standards you come out looking good. With golden it's everything his way which basically no one agreed with. It made them look incompetent as coaches & if anyone said hey we don't agree either but this is what it is than you were gone. In the end it's all business. Anytime you're offered more than twice your salary to leave a toxic situation who in their right mind wouldn't do the same.

He was with the Bills. My bad,****** phone is always autocorrecting ****. I was just talking with dj & von about the Broncos so I guess it took it as the same convo.
