buzz heading into saturday

So the dude on the top was literally one of the best true freshmen DL of the last decade.

The dude on the bottom is going to kill multiple humans.

Regarding the Lake writeup and Lance response, who on here isn't going into this season expecting victory? QB, WR, OL, TE, DE, DT, LB, CB. We are better at every single position group except safety, and even there we're "SAFETY-ER".

I won't believe it until I see it. But if the DTs are as good as being discussed on here, we are going to outright terrorize Mertz. That team still hasn't identified its 5 starters along the OL. Not because they are 8 or 9 deep like us. Because they DO NOT HAVE 5 P4 CALIBER OL. @Ghandi looks like you don't have to worry about Marley Cook as much any more. He's now 6th stack ranked after Barrow, Clark, Moten, Scott and Campbell. And hopefully Horton can actually come off the IR at some point smh.

I legit don't see any team stopping our offense. FSU maybe has the best shot at slowing us down if all their transfers (e.g., Marvin Jones) gel into something. But as of right now, this is a better team than any Miami has fielded since 2004 and better than anyone we play.
What’s the deal with Horton (DL). I had high hopes for him and thought he was a steal

A rosy outlook, as you'd expect from a pay-site trying to get people to pay for information.

Big thing is they have to stay healthy in the secondary. They're paper thin there with either young players who need time, or just simply more talent and playmaking.

I'm hearing the staff thinks Ward is everything and more. Poff is the backup I'm told, Lake has an agenda with Emory (he doesn't like Poff as the backup and tries to spin it towards Emory all the time). That doesn't mean Emory won't win out and Lake be right, but he has an agenda.

Okunlola has all the gifts, but the light needs to come on. McCoy is a coaches favorite, but the staff needs Okunlola to win that battle for recruiting purposes. He needs to be a big draft pick to sell along with Mauigoa.

Jordan Lyle is someone the staff likes a lot. Lofton will play lots of roles, but as is often the case with the Jack-of-all-trade types, the cumulative numbers won't be substantial.

I'm told the staff is starting to narrow the depth chart and turn the focus to Florida, whom they want to make sure Miami players aren't overlooking.

That's all I have for now.
Have you heard any concerns on Zach Carpenter? Theres some rumors he is really struggling in pass protection and had a couple of bad snaps? Is Ryan Rodriguez servicible?

Considering he was an unheralded true freshman he preformed pretty well. Many of his throws were on crucial 3rd downs (same with FSU) and he maintained a poise under difficult circumstances. He gave us a chance to win the games he started, and there's not reason to expect he wouldn't improve in his 2nd year under Dawson with a better supporting cast; it wouldn't surprise me if he was the second best QB at the end of Fall camp, but all things holding true there's no need to burn his shirt this season for meaningless reps.

He needs to start using laces. Look how ridiculous that videos screenshot is. Being able to not use them on like a quick RPO is good and all. But that shouldn't be how you ALWAYS throw. There is no universe where not using the laces is better than using them. There is a reason 99.999% of Qbs are using laces.

I don't have any clue why Emory throws the ball like this, and why he played an entire season without it being corrected...

Looking out for @Lance Roffers to address.

His name was on par with our secondary concerns during spring ball. And there was often talk about hitting the portal for another C. Matt Lee is a tough act to follow.

I haven’t heard any negativity lately and even did hear good stuff about his work ethic but it wasn’t too detailed.

A lot of QBs throw without the laces,"including Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and Lamar Jackson." https://www.google.com/search?q=Thr...IMjAyNWowajeoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I want to see Emory process and play faster.

"Elite" to me means the very best of the best.
There is potential for many positions on our team to be elite but they need to prove it on the field first.

Cam ward extending plays is huge. TVD was a statue and throwing outside the pocket wasn’t his strong suit. Nor was mobility in the pocket. So even tho his line was great he got himself hit a lot. Cam can extend plays and throw off platform which will lead to some broken play completions. Keep drives going. He can also scamper for a first every now and then. Maybe even a quick goal line keeper off read option
This is where stats can be very deceiving. TVD actually had a better QB rating than Cam last year but that does not measure many of the intangibles you mentioned.

The college formula weighs more on YPA than turnovers.

For example, if you plug their numbers into the NFL passer rating calculator, it’s:

91.01 TVD
96.94 Ward

A basically 97 passer rating probably has you in the top 10 in the nfl annually.

And remember, TVD did have some spectacular games, statistically. When he was good, he was REALLY good. But when he was bad, he was god awful.

Against A&M, he completed 70% of his passes for 375 yards and 5 TDs with 0 INTs. That’s absurd. Temple was great. Louisville was really good. Boston college was really good. But UVA and NC State were comically bad. GT was well below average.
