buzz heading into saturday

I agree with pretty much all of this.

Lake does show his bias at times, and I have heard the same as you.

I would expect Poff to be the no. 2 for the opener. Emory has better longer term upside, and eventually will surpass him at some point most likely, but if Poff isn't or wasn't slightly ahead at this time in the summer, I would be a little concerned.

That being said, I'm hearing that both Poff and Emory are doing well, and have made strides since the spring. Emory coming back from his injury, and Poth learning how to be a Miami Hurricane. I have been told also that Judd who has surprised the coaches (to the upside) the same way Emory did last year when he arrived.

My take is still that they would really like to redshirt Emory, which I suspect will happen unless something really comes off the rails.
Poff is by FAR the better athlete with a better arm and experience in CFB. Why would you think Emery will surpass him? The only advantage Emery has is height.

I disagree. How is WR recruiting going for us this year in comparison to teams like OSU and Texas and Oregon that have recruited the position at an elite level?

and we were a second guess away from having Poff as our starting QB,
Also look at the QB's that have won the title: If we're calling Bennett a UGA "HS recruit" I can't remember the last transfer to win the natty not named Joe Burrow. Was it Coker from Bama? I'm not here for ACC runner-ups

My once tall, hard candle of life now stands short in a lot of melted wax at my feet,
Have you tried Viagra for that?
so it all sounds refreshing and giving me hope that we are as good as advertised. However, I’d inhale if I knew Mario had self-assessed his role in some of the losses and miscues last season. I won’t mention the instances, but he was the wedge that left the door to losses open. Other than that, I love what he’s done since coming here, the players he’s acquired, the staff he’s put together. He||, I can even smell playoffs and beyond in the near future - something we haven’t had in a long time. I hope. Boy do I ever hope…

A rosy outlook, as you'd expect from a pay-site trying to get people to pay for information.

Big thing is they have to stay healthy in the secondary. They're paper thin there with either young players who need time, or just simply more talent and playmaking.

I'm hearing the staff thinks Ward is everything and more. Poff is the backup I'm told, Lake has an agenda with Emory (he doesn't like Poff as the backup and tries to spin it towards Emory all the time). That doesn't mean Emory won't win out and Lake be right, but he has an agenda.

Okunlola has all the gifts, but the light needs to come on. McCoy is a coaches favorite, but the staff needs Okunlola to win that battle for recruiting purposes. He needs to be a big draft pick to sell along with Mauigoa.

Jordan Lyle is someone the staff likes a lot. Lofton will play lots of roles, but as is often the case with the Jack-of-all-trade types, the cumulative numbers won't be substantial.

I'm told the staff is starting to narrow the depth chart and turn the focus to Florida, whom they want to make sure Miami players aren't overlooking.

That's all I have for now.
any negatives ... i've hard that there's criticism of carpenter ... offensive hasn't had a sense of urgency

I rely on you in all of your screen name iterations for these things. Like shrimp**** is the original but the list expanded.
Someone warned me for saying slapdick last week so I figured it’s not cool to be saying that stuff. Still trying to find the person who warned me so I could have a few choice words.

Height, knowledge of system, actual big game FBS experience. There's a lot more than just height. And he's not a bad QB to begin with, and all we've seen of him is getting thrown to the wolves (Clemson/FSU) as a true freshman. Kind of astounding how quickly he was written off. Ken Dorsey got to get his feet wet vs Rutgers and Temple (when both were good awful) throwing to Wayne and Moss and Franks. Emory got no such luxury, yet we're writing him off because he didn't throw for 350 yards and 3 TDs a game.

It is so painful a statistic that it's actually hilarious, pure comedy. And I was a rabid TVD homer, lol.

My brother told me he was watching the NC State game from last year and talked about Fletcher being a dude in that game. Like an idiot, I went back and rewatched the condensed version on YT to see Fletcher. He balled out as advertised. But I of course couldn't enjoy it. All I saw was TVD throwing that f-ing game away. RZ interceptions, fumbles, deep sacks, just an all out meltdown with how bad he played. We should have beaten that team by 3 TDs. What a disgrace.

I really doubt we're going to see 8 in the box with Cam Ward.

Martinez alone wins us 2 or 3 games last year.

JMHO

I can't wait to see him run against UF.
