thisthe difference I've started to tell friends that ask why my expectations are so high, is that compared to previous years, we're not just hopeful our Younger guys take a step forward. we're not relying on Fletcher taking the next step.. We went out and got the best RB we could.. we're not relying on Emory to take the next step, we went out and got the best QB in the portal... We're not praying Horton/Moten step up, we went out and got 2 starting caliber DT's.... We mixed other teams studs with our studs...
Kinsler is a redshirt freshman relaxNo mention Kinsler or Stafford?
2 I was expecting to hear moving up
I am so far in that it’s embarrassing
It's been so long since we've even had good players that people are skipping a few levels. I'd say if players are future Day 1, and some Day 2 prospects we can use elite.Right? I thought about this some more after posting... I get that elite is subjective and it would be difficult to put an exact definition on it, but I think a conservative definition would be that you have to at least be in the discussion as a top 10 player at your position.
Even that is probably too encompassing and in reality should be at least the top 5 to be considered elite (and even then, should the 5th best TE or K be considered elite?), but let's go with 10 for the sake of argument.... does anyone really think that Miami has 15 players that are in the top 10 at their position?
Its the same people that use “generational” all the timeIt's been so long since we've even had good players that people are skipping a few levels. I'd say if players are future Day 1, and some Day 2 prospects we can use elite.
I saw somebody call Bain, Reggie White. I don't need any examples. Its the same people that use “generational” all the time
Trying to explain that unless you’re Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan you’re not “generational” is like trying to explain to my dog that I promise I’m coming back
Agree with all of this besides 4 elite OL. Also maybe not elite but we’re very good at those spots you mentioned and amongst the top of the ACC. But OL just 3. Francis cooper and rivers yes. A tad bit Worried about center and the LG- elite QB
- elite RB
- 3 elite WRs
- 3 high upside TE
- 4 elite OL and 4 capable OL
- 4 elite DEs
- 4 veteran DTs
- 1 elite and 2 veteran LBs
- 2 veteran DBs and 2 upside DBs
- elite kicker
Year 2 same OC and DC
THIS USUALLY MEANS 11 WINS!!!!!!!!!!
McCoy starting and outplaying his initial 3 star ranking would also be a big selling point for Mario/Mirabal tooA rosy outlook, as you'd expect from a pay-site trying to get people to pay for information.
Big thing is they have to stay healthy in the secondary. They're paper thin there with either young players who need time, or just simply more talent and playmaking.
I'm hearing the staff thinks Ward is everything and more. Poff is the backup I'm told, Lake has an agenda with Emory (he doesn't like Poff as the backup and tries to spin it towards Emory all the time). That doesn't mean Emory won't win out and Lake be right, but he has an agenda.
Okunlola has all the gifts, but the light needs to come on. McCoy is a coaches favorite, but the staff needs Okunlola to win that battle for recruiting purposes. He needs to be a big draft pick to sell along with Mauigoa.
Jordan Lyle is someone the staff likes a lot. Lofton will play lots of roles, but as is often the case with the Jack-of-all-trade types, the cumulative numbers won't be substantial.
I'm told the staff is starting to narrow the depth chart and turn the focus to Florida, whom they want to make sure Miami players aren't overlooking.
That's all I have for now.
Lake always has some weird obsession with a QB, he would have gladly done TVD's laundry no questions askedA rosy outlook, as you'd expect from a pay-site trying to get people to pay for information.

Like Coop the year before though Coop was starting as a freshman and man handling peopleMcCoy starting and outplayed his initial 3 star ranking would also be a big selling point for Mario/Mirabal too
