Broaden Recruiting Scope

No...because they weren’t from South Florida.

Didn't think u would have much to say after I just dissected your whole argument. Primarily recruiting kids from Colorado, NJ, NY or Las Vegas over kids from Florida doesn't even sound realistic or logical. It sounds dumb. As I said before, u start at home first then look OOS as a secondary option. Give me a 3⭐ from South Florida like Sam Brooks over most highly rated 4⭐ from Colorado any day.

You didn’t dissect anything. We’re not saying to primarily recruit other states lol. You made all of that up in your head.

Facts are facts, we are at our best with a nice mixture of OOS kids. We are a National brand. ****, man most passionate Canes I meet are out of staters. Told this story a bunch, watched Shady McCoy a handful of times in high school, dude saw me with Cane gear on first time I met him, came up to me and started talking to me about his love for Miami. That kind of love still exists man, most people don't have a clue about Miami, at all. Get kids to CG and most are blown away. Locals kids don't appreciate it anymore man. Paradise can only be sold to those that ain't near it.

They don’t understand that. I grew up around these guys and you know how young I am. These 5* guys aren’t coming back until we win a title. They’ll keep taking bags and we need to find a way to supplement that.

Actually majority of those top kids in the 2018 class were from South Florida but regardless I said recruiting OOS should be a secondary option. Bc we missed out on some 5⭐ in Florida u said that we should go to Atlanta, NY, and Vegas and steal the prospects away from GA, OSU, PSU and USC. All of which have better than we have over the last decade but u think we can walk in and convince a kids consistently to go to school across the country. Unrealistic period. Multiple 10 win seasons will solve our problems and we have the talent on the roster now to make that happen.

@Zbrod95 why are u deleting comments? 😂😂😂

Ain’t nobody deleting comments especially when talking to you. Why are you backtracking your statements? Now it’s ok supplement our classes with OOS guys after you realized nobody was talking about not recruiting FL? Lol at multiple 10 win seasons changing something. What? are going to start matching bags being handed out? You know nothing of the local recruiting and how bad it is.

Go take a lap rook...

No my bad, you're just going back and editing every reply to the point where it's not even similar to what u had said initially. U do know that it marks a reply as "edited" for everyone to see after u go back in and edit it, right? LMAO

Did we not have our best recruiting class in a decade the year we had 10 wins? ...I'll wait. Yes, multiple 10+ win seasons will change something and 2017 is the proof.

Us going OOS to get a couple kids is something Miami has always done so you're not saying anything new. We are not going to consistently steal away kids from UGA, OSU, PSU, USC. Those schools have recruited better than us for years.

Ok Luke. How about you stop pushing our kids to other schools and treating the team you “root” for as a joke?

Maybe then we won’t suck...

Until then I’ll be in Jacksonville finding me Lo’s, Shaq’s, Romeo’s, and Mikes, in Nevada finding Brevin, in North Carolina finding Braxton, New Jersey finding David Njoku, and Georgia finding Deejay.

Maybe I’ll stop by Michael J Krop. And find Randall St. Felix instead of Mark Pope.

I mean like for real, you can’t have one 10 win season in almost 20 years and expect to sign the top south Florida talent. We have to win consistently. Y’all are so entitled. For kids who can play at a p5, they are looking at the league. And the fastest way there is with a winning team. And to be fair, we have so much talent in this state that players still go under the radar. I mean both Crowley and DJ Williams blew up late. Watch next year some unknown freshman from Florida will be destroying college football. South Florida then the state should always be priority. We have to win. Our kids won’t blindly sign here.

Miami is paradise....but not for kids who live there....you still have to be heavy in Broward, Dade and PB....but why not hit up the top kids around the country. Find talent.

This is where the financial commitment comes into play by the school....costs a bunch more to recruit heavily nationally.

I've always thought we should hit big inner cities all over the country. Kids want to leave those areas just like kids wanting to leave Miami. Most kids are blown away with Coral Gables. Not at all what people think about Miami when you get there. Right off the bat parents are swayed too. I would recruit the heck out of all big cities, then sell them the Paradise that is the U. From Cali to Miami is a logical move.

No, this is.

Guys like that don’t get SFL kids don’t want to be here. This isn’t the 90’s with Gems running all over the place. There is no more Miami mystic to sell if you couldn’t tell about Jared Harrison-Hunte’s response. I’m going to recruit nationally and take other recruits from other states until these high schools that you support stop pushing kids away.

Guys like you will always get this university’s football program mediocre. This isn’t the 80’s - 90’s anymore. The old way of doing things doesn’t exist so either this university is going to adapt and save itself or it’ll continue to die until we turn into Georgetown Basketball.

Agree 100% on the football comments. Add to that It's too easy for kids to get recruited by everyone else- just look at how many schools have been down in So Fla this past week handing out offers - AND parents are way smarter and more receptive to their kids leaving and going elsewhere

Easy on the Gtown basketball... LMAO Although Gtown doing some of the same stuff by not broadening the coaching search, etc. alumni aren't always the answer... Need to adapt. GTown does have a lot of the same problems as Miami in basketball

If Miami doesn't start getting more OOS trench help, they're destined to have mediocre lines forever. Facts are facts. South Florida is loaded with skill position players. Tons of undersized, pass rushing defensive ends and linebackers. When it comes to quality defensive tackles and any position on the offensive line, Miami has to import them. Who's the last good DT to come here that was a local kid? How about O lineman? Even the highly ranked local linemen we sign turn out to be busts.

All you have to do is look at our last elite team and title team. Exactly what you said. We hit speed in Florida, and have to go OOS for about everything else.

N.Y. and New Jersey aren't exactly hot beds for talent, unless you want your program to resemble Rutgers. I would recruit the **** out of the midwest for OL and recruit Georgia, Texas, Louisiana and Florida for playmakers, also try to keep that pipeline open to Bishop Gorman. I am disappointed with the S. Florida kids hauling *** though.

We were pretty solid with Jersey dlinemen though.

My brother in law is good friends with a Major P5 College Football headcoach who has major connections to South Florida. Said there is a tremendous amount of negative recruiting going on with SEC teams like UGAY towards Miami right now (especially under Richt) also says that all these elite players have handlers which are steering them to certain programs. Last thing he said was that the players transferring from one high school to another has gotten way out of hand and makes it hard for even them to follow players....

Anyone check how many kids from the Tri-County area were on Bama and Clemson's rosters last year?

I believe it was six combined.

I've been saying this for a while.

Miami's location is not an advantage for Miami kids. Miami kids take living in Miami granted. The "stay home" angle has no weight to them.

Miami's location is an advantage for OOS kids because they've been exposed to the cold, boring areas they've lived in most of their life.

Great post. So true.
