You realize almost all of the top 100-200 kids were committed before we took our first snap vs Florida, and statistically a vast majority of kids don't decommit once they're committed. This class has seen Miami perform poorly the last two years, the two classes prior were being sold on a vision, that's the difference. We should see a major bumb in the 26 class, imo we;ll easily have a top 5 class next cycle.

I'm not saying we won't get some high profile guys between now and signing day, we didn't land Justin Scott until a week or two before NSD if i remember right, I'm still expecting DJ in the class and if Florida continues to drop games and they end up firing Napier I think we get Hanks as well and possibly Vernell Brown. IMO if we're 7-2 right now we would have no chance with any of them and possibly would have had a few decommits from guys we wanted to keep.
That's thr thing though OJ wasn't an outlier he's a player who was much better than his star rankings and responded better than most of these high profile guys who got crowned by everybody. That's the point we can go and speculate like crazy about **** thede players will be and when but if we go in the archives here the insanely bad takes/predictions of these HS players can go on for weeks so let's just see how they evolve later before making guarantees
If half of our secondary class pans out well that's solid. But we'll need an impact guy at corner & safety from the portal no matter what to protect us with what you're talking about because it's true. At corner alone between Antoine, Ewald, Fitzgerald, and let's say Arnoux if Merritt bounces we'll be lucky to get 2 of those guys to be good but we need all of them so it puts lots of pressure on Mario, Guidry, and Chevis to hit big in portal if you can't flip at least one of Hanks or Pickett.
The rules for us always get re-adjusted. ALWAYS. First it was, "I need to see what they do on the field first"...well, they see it...now its, "Well, now I need to see what they do to replace Cam after this year!"...LOL. Smh.

Yea you need a first round guy cause when it’s playoff time you will go against first rounders at every spot here and there. You have to have elite talent to go vs the top teams.

True. We gotta find someone or two who can hold up against a Jeremiah Smith or Ryan Williams and we don't have it yet in the secondary. Guys like Antoine, Hanks, Pickett would be a great start but still too vulnerable no doubt.
If the minority, it is a small minority. Taking away that Pickett has 5 stars and Hanks 4, it seems like tons of people would prefer Hanks if had to choose one, people get enamored by that 5th star. Really hope we land one of them although we obviously could use both.
I agree as I think Hanks is the better pure CB.
