2025 Ben Hanks Jr 4* CB from Booker T Commits to the Gator

because you are going by what they do in HS instead of transitioning them to College ball and the speed of the game. Its different than HS so alot of guys wont work out, it happens all the time at UGA and Bama where guys who were rated high cant handle the speed of the game and they transfer out. Then when those kids go to FSU or wherever that fan base thinks they are getting a difference maker and they aren't that at all. You have to hoard that top talent so the misses wont hit you harder PAUSE. So you have to get DJ and Hanks just in case other guys aint it, for example Stafford will never see the field here possibly and lots of people were high on him ( I wasn't) I dont care if he made 30 HS all star games that doesn't mean a thing.

This is why the class at that spot is underwhelming, you cant let DJ be Jeremiah and go to LSU. You cant allow that. What if he becomes a shut down corner? That by itself can help this team tremendously next season, and if our guys aren't difference makers we will be in the same spot next season defensively, because one top player can change a defense entirely.

You are overstating the upside of the class. Antoine is a stud but just suffered a major injury and Stubbs while a stud is more rover than the FS we need back there. The class is not terrible but if we lose Merritt then that is a major hit as most of the remaining class is meh or at best projects with some intriguing ceilings.
Antoine has a tweaked knee, didn’t tear his ACL

That really aint have sh to do with anything dude had the gift of gab at Bama day 1. He got the best roster with no challengers at the perfect time, now its more difficult cause there are some elite recruiters at elite jobs. All the others caught up and figured it out, thats why that dude dipped cause it would be more parity and will taint his elite resume.
It had a lot to do with it. He just had won a chip at lsu before that lil stint with the dolphins. So the kids coming up saw what he did at lsu and then see him leaving the nfl to come to bama. That’s easy to sell kids. So he could say I can get you a chip and I just came from the league I can get you there. I know you don’t think winning matters but saban has said himself he used them rings to recruit

Exactly and not just for their career its for the trajectory of the program…We have to start landing more game changers, even if its not a 5 label star guy.

We are seeing the impact they can have on winning and on recruiting positions for the future. We landed our best dline class after we landed bain, probably land our best oline class next year because of how francis and others look. Cam probably puts us at the table for the next top transfer qb

We only see the side of its early playing time which matters to recruits, but a proven track record will always matter more like it has with dj

And there is a reason that OT from 26 is looking at us, he know Francis is gone and its his job to start. Same reason Francis came he knew he would start immediately

This is true but the last vision with him was ****** from an optic stand point at Mia, he ran from the NFL (thats how they made it look) and dude was landing guys at MSU like Plaxico Burress.....dude knew talent and how to get it anywhere he went. At MSU without a resume he was still and always was an elite recruiter

Oh I agree he has always been a good recruiter but those lil optics matter. Even when he took over msu he left the nfl for that job. He had been the browns DC I believe. Kids eat that type shít up

Idk what he says either but he gets it done somehow. I always wonder what former players say about him.

They seem to like him. Ricky Williams was just on udonis haslem and Mike miller pod and he basically said he liked saban. Said cause he always kept it real and said what was on his mind. Felt like he could trust him because of that

Tbh I've never seen any player completely be against Saban and sure he could be an ******* but never seemed fake to his players
