Miami has a women’s volleyball program that’s going pretty well. Wins against the #1, 5, 25 team in the country last time I checked. Did we offer the sister?

How are they looking bad Hylton Stubbs and Bryce Fitzgerald are **** good and Bryce can play corner, Chris Ewald went against JoJo Trader and Jeremiah Smith in practice all the time and he’s got experience at just playing corner, Jaboree Antoine is a huge get from Louisiana and LSU wanted him badly, Tim Merrit is very talented but out of necessity he’s had to play QB, Amari Wallace until he got hurt was a feisty defensive back, and we are going after Ben Hanks and Dj plus Sharmar Arnoux so can’t understand your point.

because you are going by what they do in HS instead of transitioning them to College ball and the speed of the game. Its different than HS so alot of guys wont work out, it happens all the time at UGA and Bama where guys who were rated high cant handle the speed of the game and they transfer out. Then when those kids go to FSU or wherever that fan base thinks they are getting a difference maker and they aren't that at all. You have to hoard that top talent so the misses wont hit you harder PAUSE. So you have to get DJ and Hanks just in case other guys aint it, for example Stafford will never see the field here possibly and lots of people were high on him ( I wasn't) I dont care if he made 30 HS all star games that doesn't mean a thing.

This is why the class at that spot is underwhelming, you cant let DJ be Jeremiah and go to LSU. You cant allow that. What if he becomes a shut down corner? That by itself can help this team tremendously next season, and if our guys aren't difference makers we will be in the same spot next season defensively, because one top player can change a defense entirely.

They are recruiting other kids and I’m not sure what we have is bad. Antione and Stubbs alone are studs. Probably portal two kids hopefully of quality. You have D brown hopefully healthy and some improvement from Harris Williams with OJ. Patterson looks good. Idk I agree in a way but not where I’d say it’s bad.

The secondary class isnt bad, in fact its strong right now.

Amari Wallace is a baller at nickel. Louisiville

Ewald is a solid CB with length. UGA

Antoine is high level athletic CB big time get. LSU

Stubbs is a rangy striker at S, bigtime player. Florida/SC

Fitgerald is an elite athlete who may can even play CB. LSU/UF/FSU

The schools listed are who we beat them for.

This right now would be best secondary we have signed in years. Still chance to add more elite players also.


Then you look at the young secondary players on roster who I think are all going to be big time in Brown, Frederique, and Patterson, and the secondary will be a strength soon imo.

I think the obvious of Pick and Hanks sticks in everybody's mind but you're right about the upside of the secondary next year especially if they can geta monster safety in the portal. Caleb Downs outside of Cam imo has been the best portal player this year and somebody similar to him can make this secondary take a complete 180

You are overstating the upside of the class. Antoine is a stud but just suffered a major injury and Stubbs while a stud is more rover than the FS we need back there. The class is not terrible but if we lose Merritt then that is a major hit as most of the remaining class is meh or at best projects with some intriguing ceilings.

Antoine only suffered a tweak, it's been stated that the initial report of an ACL tear wasn't correct. He'll be an early enrollee and will complete for a starting spot day 1.

Well then that’s great ****** news. Kid is a stud and if he is what we think he is, he gets heavy minutes immediately in this **** show of a secondary.

I barely talked about the class because I'm not determining who they'll be right now even though I guarantee you didn't think OJ would be what he is now. My POV is Brown, OJ and Quan will take a leap next year and if they can get the field general at S that they didn't replace well enough after Kam left the secondary will be much better. That's all before we know if Pick/Hanks end up in the class

I 100% did not think OJ would be what he is now. Using an outlier doesn’t make anyone’s case more compelling though. Personally I’m excited to see how OJ develops as he has a shot to be a real good one but Brown does nothing for me. I think we are all high on Quan.

I get your frustration with prior recruiting failures, and this is a very good and deep class of DBs, so of course we want every top flight commit we can get. But objectively speaking the haul we already have is one of our best DB classes ever on paper. Got to hold onto them, for sure. But they're super high quality.

I'll be ecstatic if we can flip Hanks and/or Pickett. But I won't lose sleep if we don't. We just need to keep staking, class after class after class. And we need to be going hard at the portal this offseason, too.

p.s., I wouldn't be surprised if we trade Merritt for Hanks

last years WR class was good too
but every single commit we have is < than J Smith
we cant risk that by losing pickett and hanks

I agree with everything! accept, we don't know if it's underwhelming just yet!....who knew frederique was a stud? We have to let it play out!
