we're jumping the gun a bit on the proclamations of ineptness of this staff... recruiting has gone well, our record has continued to improve... all this with NCAA crap going on.. I think we'll have more of an idea next season.. al's first "real" class will be juniors, even though we're breaking in a new QB, if we can at the very least match this seasons record and gt a bowl win..i'll be on board.. now if he pulls a randy and loses a 2 or 3 more games than we did last year, that's a different story


oh, and we have evidence that Al and D'onof can put together a solid defense.. which buys them time/credibility.

I don't know what universe you live in...but recruiting has not gone "well".

Wayyyyyy too much elite talent is still leaving south florida. I'm fully aware you can't get them all...but this year is a perfect example. In a year where South Florida was LOADED we've got a class which is better described as QUANTITY instead of quality.

Spare me the Golden apologists defense dude.....the ONE thing he's suppose to be good at (recruiting) he isn't excelling at.

"But he's had good classes"...well guess what...when you're coaches are horrible at gameplanning and making gameday adjustments, "good" isn't going to cut it. This staff needs ELITE players to have a chance.

After reading this, I've just about decided to put my support for this program on hold for a few years. At the rate we are going now, we'll be lucky to end up with a Div. 2 football team when the Nitwit Lions are finally done with us. Have been reading this and other Miami boards for some weeks now and it's just sickening to see what is happening to the Canes.I know I'm not alone in wondering what kind of Amateur Hour we have now in Coral Gables. cool, chise. glad i can rustle your jimmies. if you want to bail on the team then go ahead. i want d'onofrio gone and was open to see golden leave as much as anyone else, but what's done is done and now everyone wants to throw the baby out with the bathwater. if you want the team to fail so golden gets canned, that's on you. if you want to quit sending donations, if you even donate at all, that's on you. if you don't want to show up to games, that's on you. but don't call yourself a canes fan while you do it. the players have nothing to do with personnel decisions and are stuck in the middle by being underdeveloped and undercoached, but everyone wants to punish them for administrative incompetence.

I'm hopefull the true quitters will be the 7-10 repetitive porsters who love reading their same diatribe over and over and over. LOL, learn to read if you're going to address the critics of this program. Who was expecting to win big? None of us. I would be fine with 9 wins had we done it in a fashion that shows we are improving. That we have a trend on D and you don't see it says more about your evaluation skills than it does the fans that actually criticize the product on the field. BTW, most of the critics will be here long after you are gone.

Your boy was saying this all last summer, remember? But no, a recruit cannot possibly have eyes and determine that this system is crap for the type of talent he has and the style that he plays.

Why would an elite JUCO DT, even if he can qualify, want to use our defensive scheme as a stepping stone to the NFL? When you actually use your brain and set aside the emotions, there is literally no reason for a DT (JUCO or otherwise) to come play here. I'm sure that upsets some of the people who think the coaches can do no wrong, but that is a reality. Has this system produced any elite NFL DTs? Nope. Do our DTs regularly stand out individually? Nope. Are our DTs productive? Nope.

But ya know, I'm sure all of this will change when we start a freshman Valentine next year.

Perfect example of lowered expectations. The bar has reached epic lows.

Last season, the goal was winning the ACC Coastal and compete for the ACC 'ship. Now the expectations are... Don't be worse than last year.

This is how it happens. New fans, who have known nothing but losing, replace old fans, who still have high expectations but are withering in their numbers compared to the new breed.

Before you know it, all the guys who demand greatness from the team get drowned out, and the zombies and mummies take over. That bar keeps dipping every year. You're seeing it now with the "we improved we won 9 games" crowd. 9 wins used to get you fired here. Erickson lost 2 games his first year here, and fans were killing him. They wanted him dead.

Hopefully coming soon. AQM, Mccord, Grace, Figs, Kamalu, Kirby all at least have some athleticism. Something the players we are losing are clearly lacking.
