Alabama, ranked #1 in talent, had the same # of wins, UGA, ranked #2, had only one more reg season win because refs gave them one in the mult-overtime embarrassment against GT.

But people here for some reason really really really want to portray Kiffin as the king of "does less with more."

No I understand. I guess what I am saying is, Radakovich should pick the GM and the GM should be under Radakovich but should be Mario’s boss. I don't like the power structure. Because of Mario’s contract, I don't see it being possible to replace him if things go sideways next season. Therefore, some alternatives to improve the hit rates in recruiting is hiring an actual GM who has more skill at evaluation. I thought that was going to be Alonzo Highsmith's role.

Inaccurate to what degree? If we were comparing their portal guys to Clemson, sure that might matter a lot, but the SEC teams ranked above them tend to do very well in both HS and portal, so instead, I'd like to know where is the proof that all those SEC teams total talent pales in comparison to Kiffin's. The fact is that he has moved that program into a consistent winning category that's well above their history.

No he should hire the HC at North Texas who was the former OC at WSU and HC at Incarnate Word that recruited and developed both Ward and Mateer. Make him co-OC and co- HC.
