All in on Mateer (Boomed and Sooned)

We gotta pay whatever is necessary to get Mateer. That being said it’s playoffs or bust if we land him for Mario. I don’t think Mario can last if Mateer comes and we miss again. If your gonna pay big boy money and not get to the playoffs than it’s time to change the HC.

That’s a lot of true statements in one post.

We developed him into a Top 5 NFL draft pick, something that the Oklahoma DC and QB coach were unable to do, YOU MORON...

Cam came back for another year of CFB for the purpose of elevating his NFL draft stock. Was he good before he came to Miami? Absolutely, but he wasn’t projected as a top 5 pick.

A third/fourth rounder left Pullman. Came to Miami. Left a top 5 pick. Not sure what else they need to see

I think top 3 pick. Seeing a lot of mock drafts now with Ward as the #1 overall. Wouldn’t that be something. From 4th rounder to first pick in the draft. I hope he reps the U on Monday Night Football.

Kiffin didn’t waste any talent this year?!?! Interesting

Lane was an absolute disappointment this year and anyone who says different is just on his dyck for some strange reason. This season was a complete failure for Ole Miss and Lane.

It’s hard to overcome the crush and fascination that people have with LK. Dude has been in college football as an oc and hc for a lot of years and arguably had on paper a top 5 and maybe even top 3 roster and couldn’t make the playoffs.

Many fans wanted LK yet Ole Miss got stuck with the Universe’s greatest OC!
What is it with the attempts to overrate the talent at Miss just so Kiffin can be criticized? The 2024 247 talent composite has them at #20 in the nation. That means 10 teams in the SEC are ranked higher. Kiffin's team finished with 9 wins, tied for 4th in the conference.

Alabama, ranked #1 in talent, had the same # of wins, UGA, ranked #2, had only one more reg season win because refs gave them one in the mult-overtime embarrassment against GT.

But people here for some reason really really really want to portray Kiffin as the king of "does less with more."

Haven’t seen the “Cam” affect mentioned much in this Mateer recruitment. He may just well be our best hope of landing him.
Have to hope he comes out of the visit to Oklahoma without committing. Get him down to Miami, Ward needs to host him and it's pretty simple from there. Put on the film. Look at the OL, talk to the OC from the #1 offense. See what they were able to do for Ward THIS YEAR. Proof of concept. That BUM HC at Oklahoma hasn't done that w a QB. He almost got Arnold killed. Had him benched at one point and then hit the portal. If he gets to Miami, it's time for Mario to earn that paycheck. If he isn't going to win us any real championships, atleast win us some more offseason championships for the fans to brag about from January-September 🤣

Even if he wants OU, its negligent on his agents part to not shop around at least a little......

he makes more than anyone at UM. he doesnt actually have a boss lol.
But in theory, the GM should have the final say in all personnel matters. The players and coaches. He should be able to remove the head coach for poor performance, in theory, with collaboration with the athletic director. The GM should be over the Head Coach like it is in pro sports is what I'm saying. Like, Pat Riley is over Spolestra. Grier is over McDaniel, etc.

Yeah but the most important thing is to spend another year with his OC, regardless of money.

And if he needs to stay close to home, so he will be super-prepared when he gets drafted by, say, the Jets...
