Let’s be real here , it’s not hard to negotiate a deal when you’re the hottest free agent going. It only takes two teams and we know they have that.
Gonna be tough to beat OU money wise. The HC is a dead man walking this year he has to sign Mateer to have a shot at keeping his job IMO. Hopefully we get him but they may throw an unreal number at him we can’t compete with

All depends on what theyre telling the other recruits (specifically wr).
dawson has an insane track record of WR's producing in his offense.

obviously having a QB helps but with the significant glaring playing time available in the number one offense in the country i think we lock up at least of these elite WR's in the next few days

hard to beat out hometown plus OC plus QB coach

just hope whatever happens, it doesn't delay us in getting other targets

It's not his hometown. He's from the Dallas suburbs not cow-f*cking Oklahoma. His QB coach was there for all of 1 season so can't assume they have a close, intimate relationship. As for OC? Who knows if Mateer is enamored with him, especially after a 12 pt output against Wyoming. But even if he likes him, I think it's a wash between that and his relationship with Cam Ward. Might want to note that no SEC players made the top 10 for Heisman voting. As for the offensive system itself, Dawson's offense isn't a radical departure from what he had at WSU.

Could be. In that case I hope Nickel will be ready.

If Sooners giving 4 million, then UM has to find a way to match it. Why that just happens to be exactly half of Cristobal's salary. If you think that is overpaying, consider how much a 6 win season is compared to a 10 win season, and how hot Cristobal's seat is going to be if we finish close to the .500 mark again- which would be 3 out of 4 seasons at UM.

No its not.

We have $15M that UM can pay from the revenue sharing plus NIL.

We can be as competitive as we need to be

Yep pretty sure A&M, SMU, LSU, and Arkansas are all closer to his house if he is near a Dallas metro.

I've met more than a few people from Texas who will **** on the state of Oklahoma any chance they get.

you're right - i read somewhere that he has family near Norman though. maybe that was false information

I didn't say we had no shot, but to think that beating his 2 personal coaches (OC and QB coach are close with a QB as any position coach is with any position) then that's just wrong

hope Mario and dawson pull it off though
