I don't think Miami is after Mendoza despite the Columbus ties and the familiarity Cristobal and Mirabel have with Mendoza's father
 
What does this even mean mask our issues? It’s not a secret our defense wasn’t very good. But you can sign another top qb and improve your defense at the same time. Isn’t rocket science. And I’ll take a 10 win season as a floor any day of the week

Oklahoma is gonna try to guarantee his camp a lot of promises that they don’t have right now. And if that’s the case, there’s a whole lot of back channels and guarantees that were made. Cause I don’t see where they can guarantee a talented squad with all the portal exits that they’ve had to key positions on offense.

That $4M is horse**** in my opinion. Cam got $2M.
 
No announcement is expected today, according to SoonerScoop.com sources. But Oklahoma is hoping to have Mateer in Norman possibly as soon as Tuesday. The Sooners hope to close the deal and keep Mateer on campus for good.

OU isn’t the only major program expected to pursue the top quarterback in the portal. Mateer did not have a “no contact” tag on his entry in the portal. Rumors have swirled that Miami and Vanderbilt hope to get in the mix, as well as several other programs. At this point, it’s unclear if he will take any other visits.

Before we let Horton jump in I would have said if he made it to Miami's campus he'd be ours. Comparing to Oklahoma, they had nothing to sell.

Now, we have the same amount of WRs to sell but a better OL still.

Maybe get Horton back in the fold and pay a WR to commit ASAP and then dangle it out there with a couple million $.

If this kid goes to OU with an offensively inept head coach, no WR's, and doesn't even come see what's down here in Miami who just had a first team All American, record setting, number one offense leading, top 5 draft pick, Heisman finalist QB from the very same school he is coming from..... Then I'm not sure of his decision making. Or OU is paying a truck load.
