When it comes to qbs and NIL and @Josh speaks you listen. When @Cribby says take a breath, you listen. I’ve heard there’s no reason to panic yet as well. But we’re experts at panicking on CIS lol
OU will try to lock this up in the next couple days , at this point just hope it drags out some. If that happens this all bets are off.

If we don’t get Mateer, that will be a bummer. Not many guys in the portal that are game changers.

With limited windows now, the next opportunity to bring someone in is after spring practice, yes?
Heard he entered with a do not contact so he’s all OU. What a dummy if that’s true they have 0 WRs

If this kid goes to OU with an offensively inept head coach, no WR's, and doesn't even come see what's down here in Miami who just had a first team All American, record setting, number one offense leading, top 5 draft pick, Heisman finalist QB from the very same school he is coming from..... Then I'm not sure of his decision making. Or OU is paying a truck load.
THIS! Mateer is literally a NFL scouts wet dream with his athleticism too bad he won’t be able to show it off at OU bad OL no WRs good luck man

I don't think Miami is after Mendoza despite the Columbus ties and the familiarity Cristobal and Mirabel have with Mendoza's father
Ya I saw somewhere on X that said UCLA, Indiana, UGA and someone else were the main ones linked to mendoza. Id def take him as a plan b type guy of Mateer falls thru but probably will be too late.

Everybody says if he gets 4 million it’s a slam to Oklahoma. However, I find that hard to believe because yeah, he has $4 million now but he’s gonna want to win games. He’s gonna want to have people to throw to. He’s gonna want to guarantee an early first round pick.

Oklahoma is gonna try to guarantee his camp a lot of promises that they don’t have right now. And if that’s the case, there’s a whole lot of back channels and guarantees that were made. Cause I don’t see where they can guarantee a talented squad with all the portal exits that they’ve had to key positions on offense.
Make the “NIL” competitive. If he plays well here he will get actual NIL deals. Ward proved that. Again I fully believe the best financial decision long term is to come here.

Oklahoma's people are REALLY confident.

If we hired Hartline, let our #1 WR walk, and then Jeremiah hit the portal, the writing is on the wall at that point. We might be nervous if Oregon was throwing mad money at him. But we'd still feel pretty **** confident, right?

That was the example someone at OU gave me.

No announcement is expected today, according to SoonerScoop.com sources. But Oklahoma is hoping to have Mateer in Norman possibly as soon as Tuesday. The Sooners hope to close the deal and keep Mateer on campus for good.

OU isn’t the only major program expected to pursue the top quarterback in the portal. Mateer did not have a “no contact” tag on his entry in the portal. Rumors have swirled that Miami and Vanderbilt hope to get in the mix, as well as several other programs. At this point, it’s unclear if he will take any other visits.

Uh ohhh backpeddling starting!

Just get him down to coral gables

If we don’t get Mateer and the plan remains to get a portal QB it is not the end of the world. He is no Cam Ward and I believe we could still find a QB1 in the portal.

If it is Mateer or bust (Emory) and he doesn't come, yikes. You can kiss goodbye to all those good portal WRs we want (and maybe more). This would be a reason to panic.

Sure.

And it would be an even better example if we were trying to get Jeremiah with no QB, no OL, and no other offensive skill position players.

But otherwise, it's a PERFECT comparison...

IMO you are overestimating the other QBs in the portal. I think Mateer is the only one who gets UM to double digit wins.

No contact - certified overnight FedEx with a blank check. This ***** is simple but the numbnuts on this site create every plausible excuse. Too many dumbass attorneys graduating from Da U and the Columbus Mafia…

Pay for play..what college football is about. Get on the bus or get off.
