If we don’t get Mateer we should bring in someone even if they are a former backup like the Penn state guy. Emory, Judd, and Nickel is not enough talent for a team that should have playoff aspirations. Unless we are lessening that goal

Build enough talent around Emory to compensate for any shortcomings in his QB play. Invest NIL money in the defense instead of spending $4 million on Mateer. Focus on building a solid team around Emory and prepare him to lead us in 2025. We do nothing spending that much on one player IMO.
