With how confident the Oklahoma reporters are, I got a bad feeling they threw a ridiculous number at him and this was already decided lol. Does't seem like just guessing

I am sure Norman and OK City media are significantly better than Miami reporters. And our local media gets it right all the time. So I don’t question these guys know what they’re taking about.

Norman is about 2 hours from his High School. If we want this kid, we could have to pay double. It would probably have to take some type of Portnoy type of deal considering the other holes we need filled.

On the other hand he could be a one and done and Oklahoma is in no position to guarantee him a better position than he had last year. They've lost a lot but not any one crucial, because they had no one crucial on offense. They had zero standouts on offense last year and their line gave up 46 sacks. Its literally a total rebuild.

We've definitely already got a pitch in via Cam or however we've done it.

The biggest pitch and the one that Oklahoma is glossing over right now and avoiding entirely is their roster, their WRs (or lack thereof), and their OL situation.

Getting him to visit will be the deciding factor IMO. If he comes to UM and visits Oklahoma and meets the players, etc. and we get a chance to talk to him about all the WRs that have left, they were 132/134 in QB sacked % allowed (and have no portal traction to address the OL)... we were 15th in 2023 and 39th in 2024 and return 5 guys that started games.... we should/could close the deal. Gotta get him to visit though.

Didn't realize Oklahoma was "home" for him as well. That's definitely a factor.

He must not give af about home bc it doesn't get any further than Pullman, Washington. 🤣

Not sure about that limb you’re on this time with that no chance on both fronts.

This year is WILD in portal in an era that’s already WILD. Jackson Arnold number from someone who would know made me spit up

Saw posted on the rivals main board that OU has some scale they use for their collective/nil. Don’t know if it’s true or not but the poster was saying they wouldn’t deviate from that scale or something to that effect.
Hopefully it’s not the same scale they use for their Co-Ed’s….

Cam was a day four draft pick before he came to Miami. Plenty of concerns before he got here. We all know how that played out.
Cam's concerns were more about ball security as far as fumbles as he was getting hit too much behind a bad offensive line, a bad offensive line that was going up against a pac-12 schedule. Mateer was making poor decisions with where to throw the ball, which is tougher to fix behind a good offensive line, and he was doing this against a Mountain West schedule... Don't get fooled by the PAC 2 branding, Washington state was a Mountain West team this year.
