True…. but if we had their staff and were to sign the classes and rank where WSU recruiting classes are normally ranked… while taken a chance on unknown QB from a school like Incarnate Word… most if our fans would be ****tin’ bricks.

Oregon St got absolutely raided last year, lost their alum HC to Michigan St of all places and honestly I don’t think they ever will recover. Going from Rose Bowls and Fiesta Bowls to being behind Boise St, San Diego St, and probably Fresno St in the PAC 12.

Washington St looks like it will be same boat. Losing the guy who was Mateer’s QB coach this year and was going to be OC next year to OU where he is going to be analyst is brutal.

it will be a better basketball conference because they new pac 12 will have San Diego State and Gonzanga.

Mateer cant go to Oklahoma imo if he wants to get to national recognition. Jackson Arnold was a highly coveted kid who they pushed Gabriel out for and he had no wr's and an OL that almost got him killed. what is different next year?

I think hardest piece to replace is Arroyo, we dont have anything similar in pipeline as weapon.. Thats a key chess piece also.

And Arnold either got pushed out or realized his potential is best maximized at a bottom feeder SEC school with his old OC.

I’m trying to be as partial as possible but it’s clear we are the best choice.

This is the new way. Recruiting is all encompassing.

Riley is definitely more of a traditional TE than Arroyo is. Arroyo one of these new wave type TEs that are more WR than anything

Big fan of Riley though but yeah can’t really compare him and Arroyo

Take off the green and orange sun glasses our offense is far from stacked. We only have about 3 players returning on offense thats proven anything at this level

If I understand correctly, Mateer isn't required to make his decision now. I suppose with half the WSU starters already in the portal, it's a question of personal safety. But even if he plays in the bowl game, that doesn't mean he can't hit the portal within a few days after it's over.

It should be a good basketball conference and has to get better when they add St. Mary’s as well.

I do think they made a mistake not adding UNLV when they added Boise, San Diego St, etc. Not sure why thought those AAC teams would actually join.

I agree regarding OU, I don’t know what the upside of going there is besides it’s closer to where he grew up and his former OC is there. Most of OU’s top WRs jumped in the portal, OL was atrocious and they haven’t added any difference makers there yet. Arnold has at least 20lbs on Mateer so he was able absorb the hits, I’m not sure Mateer would be able to hold all season

I think Williams is more of that big-bodied (not saying he's anywhere near as good!) Gronk type TE who boxes out people. He's clearly fast enough too based on his play the first two years.

Arroyo was a bit of a unicorn at TE, speed wise.
