I mean yeah but who cares. I don’t think they’ll beat us. Just think it’ll be a much tougher game. No matter who they gain we lost a top 5 wr in Miami history and our best QB in program history. Add that in with the rivalry aspect i don’t see us doing that again
**** it was immediately evident that last years game woulda been tougher had he played instead of Mertz

I’m all for the “**** everything UiF” mantra here but Lagway is the goods

Wazzu bowl game is the 27th. Last day of portal window is the 28th so I’m expecting him to enter then.
Yep and our Bowl is the 28th

Meaning.. in theory, if we still don't have our QB on the 28th, Emory won't be in the winter portal, so he'll be here in the spring. If he's here in the spring and would have to enroll somewhere else in the summer, he should just go ahead and stick around as the backup and get the keys as a RS Jr or compete with Nickel/Judd/Coleman for the starting job. Hard to win a job, at a decent program, if you enroll in the summer. Even if you do win it, you're limited and not doing yourself any favors.

Win/Win.

They give players 5 days after your last game to decide

Sorry didn’t see this. Yeah closer game, carry on 😂

My law partner is from Oklahoma, went to OU and is a lifelong OU fan. I won't get this exactly right, but OU has some kind of NIL payment range by position. The idea is all the players know it going in, they know the range of their payments, and the goal is to keep team unity, thinking that it prevents jealousy and other issues because certain players don't get paid way more than others. I don't know if it works and I don't know if it's actually in place, but that's what he says. In my mind, if that's true, OU isn't going to offer Mateer $1.9 million for 1 year (isn't that what Cam got?) because it totally violates that structure. We'll see.
They probably all in on him. Venerable is DOA. He gotta go all in with Mateer hence why he got his whole offensive staff basically to make him comfortable with transferring. Let's hope Cam is a solid recruiter because on paper we have much more to offer in terms or production, notoriety, and potential. Kid has to be able to see how bright it could be if Miami in the playoffs. Oklahoma trying to sell him on becoming bowl eligible. Mario needs to switch his style and negative recruit the absolute **** out of Venerables. Kick them clowns while they down.

Just worry about lightning striking twice. Let’s be real, we were very close to Reese Hufflepuff being our QB last year, instead at the very last minute Cam Ward changed his mind. What happens if we do the same process and Ewers goes to the NFL and Mateer goes to Oklahoma or Oregon? Should we just take the safe bet and lock down a Malik Murphy or Fernando Mendoza? Both have proven to be effective starters in the ACC and that’s without our weapons and OL. Malik had 3000 yards 26TDs for Duke and led them to a 9-3 record. That’s like 32TDs 3500 yards with our weapons and OL.

Going to be as objective as I can here:

Oklahoma:
+ SEC (barf but that's how ppl view it)
+ previous OC
+ close to his hometown
- losing a lot to portal on offense
- had **** oline and wrs ti begin with
- brutal schedule to play against
- Venables has never produced a QB

Miami:
+ Cam Ward just became top 3 pick and heisman contender, coming from the same school
+ #1 offense in the country
+ tough schedule but not overmatched
+ great oline
+ good offensive weapons (and may get better)
+ Defense that will cause absolutely shootouts
- ACC (barf at this notion again...)

Logically, this is not even close fellas. So hopefully he makes a brain based decision, and not an emotional one.
I'm with you for the most part but the offensive weapons seems to be a bit unproven. Hopefully they pan out but miami is essentially losing every weapon but Horton. Restrepo, George, Arroyo, and Brown gone. D mart most

Yeah no wonder they suck.

What if we get Mateer.

And then make another run at Jeremiah Smith?

Why not? It would probably be the next best thing to having Cam here.

It’s gonna be a long game next year. The lagway you seen isn’t who we’re gonna play next year. I can promise that. He’s the #goods
Weren’t you the same guy who said Jordan Miller isn’t an nba guy?

Lagway might develop but based on his on the field play this year, meh…

Pretty crazy to say it’s gonna be a long game when you don’t have any idea what we’re rolling out next year at this point.
