There will be many more options at QB

Yeah, no.

The cuban
The cowboy

That’s about it.

We messed around waiting for mateer when we could have gone all in on other options but Mario thought he could pull another cam (who, btw, we almost lost and we were this close to playing last year with Emory and Reese).

We may have also lost some chances with some big time WRs given we moved slow on the qb front.

Ya, not a good look. I will say that Venables walked into a much better situation than Mario did, but I still am ****ed either way. Since the GT game, this team has been demoralizing in just about every facet.

maybe we get lucky and Sayin jumps in. We have a perfect landing spot. I can see Rashada jumping in too. We have a very attractive spot open with limited experience competition and a great offensive system.

Mendoza throws for 3,500 yards and 25-30 TDs here in this offense. With what I think we have coming back and how I expect it to look, I’d see us around 15-20 in scoring offense.

Improve the defense and I can see us going 10-2 again. Going to take an investment at CB1, another safety, and a stud DT. Then, round out the offense with 1, maybe 2 more WRs and maybe a starting caliber LG to push competition there (or center).

Pay Singleton and Mendoza Mateer’s money and I’d be happy.

If that's plan B...I'm all for it

What are we doing ? It feels like kids are using Miami to up their bags and honestly Mario either HAD to know that mateer was coming to ignore other QBs or he was delusional in thinking he could talk him into it. Either way he better move and move fast and I uhhhh…don’t think he can
He needed to get us two serious CB upgrades and fix the defense for starters. He’s just not that sharp.

In the military we have a saying “analysis is paralysis”.
We also say “failure to plan is planning to fail”.

Idk the intricacies of Cam Ward’s decision. But it appears like we were fckd and had to pony up and got lucky AF.

Look at the qb rooms at Oregon, OSU, and uga.
Not one Emory Williams or Judd in those squads.

We keep hearing that money isn’t the problem. But it sure as Fck looks like we’re getting outspent again or we don’t have the plans in place to satisfy the receivers (J Smith).
We’re banking on an fiu dude and a bad foot lsu reject. Even the fiu dude is on wait and see mode and a dude like that that’s already in the same city should want to sign on the **** spot.
CORCH’in is what’s holding us back

A big one. But all day I read stupid **** about how proximity and relationships don’t matter. Just mindless nonsense. He’s from the area. He has prior relationships with the school. I don’t know the kid personally so I’m not going to say dream school **** but he was enamored with OU as a kid, at the least. They hired his OC. They hired his QB coach. He gets to go home, or close to it, collect a massive bag, play in the SEC in a system he knows perfectly well. People saying all that **** doesn’t matter are ******* morons.

Now, I am surprised he didn’t even make the trip to drive the bag up. But we don’t know what kind of kid this is. They probably offered him plenty of money and he said I don’t need to play games, let’s roll.

Miami has plenty to offer and sell for this kid. But not enough to outweigh paragraph 1. We’ll survive.
All the intangibles never work in our favor but always seem to be the tipping point against us.

Trying to entice Jeremiah smith with Mendoza or Luke is like me rolling up to the valet at Eleven in my 21 Grand Cherokee Laredo and walking up to the barest chick I see and saying “you wanna dance”?

Hey you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. If you roll up to one of the shady club outside of Camp Lejeune, you never know how it will go. I hit on the hottest girl in the joint because why not (take into account this is Jacksonville so grading on a curve). She was very receptive and wanted me to go home with her because “my eyes looked like her husband’s, who was out on deployment.” I very politely declined.

I do find it both fascinating and typical that a bunch of people who a week ago were mad that Dawson didn’t make it as a finalist for the assistant coach of the year with the number one offense at the same time think that that same guy who absolutely loves Emory has no idea what he’s talking about on a player that no one has seen play meaningful snaps in a year and only got pressed into action in his freshman year prematurely because tvd **** the bed and got hurt.

Yet everyone is convinced that he sucks on the same day that an in demand wide receiver signed knowing that Emory might be the quarterback.

And a day after an elite 11 incoming freshman’s QB won a state ****le in football hotbed Georgia at the second highest class by going 21-22 with 4 TDS and over 400 yards completing back to back undefeated seasons but he sucks too because andrew ivins is too proud to admit he missed on his 3⭐️ evaluation and despite that guy having 20 plus p4 offers including many in p2. You might also want to see what @JayCane20 contact at Georgia said about him

**** on the program all you want but Dawson is well regarded in coaching circles when it comes to finding qb talent.

Or helping a super talented guy go from day 3 to top 3 pick

I wanted mateer. Still would love a clear upgrade if available. Mendoza isn’t that to me. I’d rather ride with Emory and Luke and trust Dawson and a bunch of other coaches and players if we can’t find a true stud.
