247 released a Top Performers article and singled out Denver Kirkland.

They said he stood out in one-ones with his hands and ability to mirror. This doesn't surprise me, he was OL MVP in the Opening and looked really good in pass protection all year. They also said that Tim Williams looked very good and athletic but listed him at 6'3, 227 pounds.

6'3 227 is still bigger than what McCord came in at.

With the add of Bond, and all of our freshmen being a year older, bigger and stronger, I don't think we need Williams to make an immediate impact for us next season.

I don't think we get Williams and would prefer AQM, but I'm not turning my nose at a productive, athletic player who can get after the passer.

D'Onofrio used a ton of different looks this year, and there is definitely a spot somewhere for a guy like Williams even if he isn't a prototypical, everydown end.

Are people expecting Bond to be an impact edge guy?

I don't think I understand the question. Isn't that exactly the type of role he was brought in to serve for us next year?

What he's being brought in to do may not coincide with what people expect. Personally, I wonder what his role will be. He's come out and said "not to worry about his weight," but he's less than 225 pounds. He'll need to put on a decent amount of weight, no?

He weighed in at 229 on his visit according to him. Not saying that is the ultimatum, but I don't see why he would lie.

It's only because he committed early, but there is not enough excitement around Artie Burns.

Some of us have emphatically been saying that he'll be a corner here. I've gone a step further to say that I think he'll be in the Top 3 or 4 rotation by the end of his True Freshman season.

Peter and I don't usually have serious disagreements, but I think he has a higher ceiling and is a better prospect than Rashard Robinson.

*He may struggle at first in zone.
Love Burns. From what I can tell (I haven't seen them live so it's a little more difficult) he looks like Deon Bush with significantly better ball skills, and I think most would agree that ball skills was the one weak part of Deon's game.

We used 200-pound Gabe Terry and Tyriq McCord in passing situations this year. I'd expect Bond to bring more physical and mental maturity to the same role.

How does he compare with Fortson, same qualities? How about Micanor Regis? I remember Regis being a hard worker in high school, would of thought he turned out to be all acc at least

Williams is a guy you RS and is 240lb by the time he sees the field. Would love him and Muhammed.

At this point we just need to find a Square/Nanton type

Artie Burns may be the most athletic kid on the team the second he steps on campus. Gotta love bringing in super athletes like him and Jamal Carter.

Square? I hope we never find a Square type again. That dude didn't make a play the whole time he was here.

I've said this before, even if we get him at this point I'm not expecting much. More times than not, kids who play these type of games AND exhibit attitude/conditioning problems flame out. All that being said, I'll still take him.
