No way John Square had 5 sacks....

Square was HORRIBLE. He might have stumbled into a few plays over the years, but he was a total non-factor his entire time at UM.

He had 5 sacks as a R-Freshman on the title team

As of 2011 he was working for UM.

Wow, had no idea he was still at the U. Thanks for posting that.

And Quincy Hipps had 3 sacks in a game against FSU, and I still don't remember one of them.

I remember Square, and I specifically remember that he, like Hipps, was terrible here.

Trivia: That's the UM record for the most sacks by a freshman in one game.

After watching the Stacy Coley interview, I think we are going to have a really tough time getting him after McDonald left

This is kind of my point. I was expecting to see a significant cut above what we put out there last year. And, if Bond is 225 or so, can't we expect a guy like Terry to be the same? After all, he's younger and presumably has more room for growth.

Bond at his weight is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than Mccord or Terry. Add to it dude has more experience and pt at a high level than Terry at least. He is what we expect to see from Mccord in more of a reeady made package.IMO hes more fast twitched than either of the two and has more moves. Mccord though i like what i saw from him at times. We needed a ready made guy because quite frankly i dont see much edge pass rushers on this current roster and thats including Chick,Green our starters. Bond is 6'2 230 BEFORE off season conditioning expecting him to get to 240-245 before the season/.

TBH, I think that McCord´s performance (not his ability) has become somewhat of a message board legend. He showed a ton of athleticism, but rarely, if at all, flashed anything more than that. I actually really preferred the pass rush Terry was showing towards the end of the season to any moves Tyriq showed.

I think McCord will become more of a true DE here, where as Terry is incredibly fast off the edge. He's usually by his blocker before they're out of their stance. He's like a missile

"Tim Williams edge quickness showing out today. Just an elite athlete." Just to counter some of the early negativity.

To the board...All of this "PRACTICE" talk is bull **** anyway. Even one performance in an all-star game isn't much.

It is the game film that matters, if the staff thinks he is good than I am good with it.

Eh, it's an opportunity for kids to face other top talent, it obviously shouldn't be too invested in, but it's a good chance to see how they match up. I'm sure coaches don't really care much about this, but it's a nice chance for fans to get a good look at players. The one on ones in practice can tell you insane amounts about a kid's ability.

Talked to Jordan Cunningham and sadly it looks like hes going to be out with a leg injury. He is pretty disappointed #UAGame

The practices are like a summer camp on steroids. Not gospel, but you gotta at least show something if you're going to be considered elite.

I agree. It is also nice for the name recognition and to have Miami (if it is) mentioned on TV a bunch of times. I just don't take too much from these games in terms of a recruit's true ability.

Artie Burns impressing with jam and closing speed.
