Alex Collins Announcement Thread - link to stream in OP

The Collins loss hurts, but that's his decision. He said he is going to continue his athletic and academic career at Arkansas... that school has neither. He put his trust in Bielema.... what happens when Bielema jumps ships? If he has a "great" season next season or the one after, he's gone.. either to a better school in the SEC or the NFL. Don't understand when kids make decisions based on just the coach.. they never learn.

It sucks now, but I can see Edwards pulling the trigger come Wed (probably didn't announce today for this reason). Dillard & Crawford are unknowns, but here is to hoping they can fill the void.

Fuuukkkknn Ncaa didn't help us here. He talked about that a lot in previous interviews. I feel like I felt after the Virginia game. Hard to believe a smart kid goes this route. Not the end of the world but still hurts. We will endure like we have so often before. Total faith in Coach Golden. Lets get the rest. Go canes.

People wonder why we are going out of state? Cause south Florida is full of ******* traitors and douchebags like Collins and his coach.

Collins articulated pretty clearly the draw to go AWAY to school. While it makes sense to all of us for these kids to stay in SF and play in front of friends and family in Miami, that's not necessarily what's going through these kids' heads. With all the rumors, it was a pleasure to actually hear a kid talk about the decision.

Let's hope Duke stays healthy next year. Big opportunity for Sony in 2014.

Don't understand the "getting away" bit. He would have gotten a chance to get away in 3 years had he stayed home. He would have attended a much better academic institution while allowing his family to see him play. He would have had that independent experience at Miami while living on campus. Not like his Mom was going to be there every morning making him pop tarts. His coach just loved the Arkansauce too much.

The **** thing now will be for elite South Florida players to leave the state. Give me more AQM type players instead of these entitled softies down in the 305/954.

The OOS kids have been more Cane than the local kids, Burns and Carter being the obvious exceptions.

Losing Collins and Thomas is a a major epic fail on Golden. Has had two years, a year and a half, to recruit the two best players in his back yard. Embarrassing for tr program.

The man cant compete with the SEC with potential sanctions hoovering over the program and not to mention the deep pockets of the SEC, the media hype of the SEC, and high school looking to ride their star players for gifts and cash. As long as the NCAA allows this to happen SEC and other schools will be coming to the inner cities of S. FL throwing cash at these players, their families as well as their coaches. Golden is doing this the right way...Every now and then you will come across a Duke Johnson, Deon Bush, Tracy Howard, etc who come from a strong family base that looks at whats best for their child far as education, location, and campus life, nfl players. Which are all the things Golden sells to recruits. All in all, Golden will get it done...and by done I mean the right way.

Yeah Amari Copper made an awful decision. So did Teddy.

Let's be real for a second, if the difference-maker talent is getting away it's time to adjust the approach, not the other way around.

That said lets see what happens on Wednesday. If we lose Grace, something stinks.

That's your rationale, not his. Kid's never been anywhere. He sounded desperate to leave. His coach steered him to Arkansas, but he steered himself away from Miami.
