A name I’m told will be visiting Miami after the dead period

Watch Jaylen Sneed from Notre Dame enter the portal when their season is done. He would be a nice fit in the Canes.

Bissainthe I can live with, he certainly isn't the reason we lose games.
I'd rather then invest heavily in a NT/1Tech, and watch these LBs flourish.
Maybe plays I've seen these NTs put on skis. Hard for a linebacker to make any plays in that case.
Bissainthe is cool, all I’m saying is we know what elite/dope *** LB play looks like and there’s not a single 1 player in that room that has shown that. Your NT/1tech point is valid.

On snap counts for the younger guys, Barry Jackson's article in the Herald:

▪ On defense, among the freshmen, safety Zaquan Patterson played 32 snaps, linebacker Cam Pruitt 14, defensive tackle Justin Scott 12, safety Dylan Day 7 and defensive lineman Armondo Blount 5. (As we noted last week, Blount already had played in four games, but a new NCAA rule allowed him to play in the bowl without burning his redshirt.) ▪ UM’s playing time allocation was notable at several positions.

Two NFL-bound veterans who played a lot this season played modest snaps: edge player Tyler Baron (22) and linebacker Jaylin Alderman (3).

UM went linebacker heavy, using Wesley Bissainthe for 57, Francisco Mauigoa 51, Raul Aguirre 46, Chase Smith 18 and Pruitt 14. Bissainthe allowed all four passes thrown against him to be caught for 31 yards, including two touchdowns.
With as often as Iowa State added a gap on the LOS with heavy personnel, I don't blame them for matching up with LB's.

I would've liked more Bear fronts to cover more OL up and allow our smaller LB's to spill more rather than taking on blocks, but I'm ok with the personnel usage.

What we're going to do? Play more CB's and S's when they were the players we didn't want out there at all, and against heavy personnel?

The problem was our LB's clearly had no idea how to cover a D gap. Their run fits were like watching monkeys learn Mandarin.

Why would a lb or dl commit without knowing the d cord and what he runs . I believe they’re already know is my answer

I’m opposed to bringing in a body but we need more impact there. If there’s a difference-maker available, we should be on it.
Can this guy run and is he instinctive Bissanthe does not seem instinctive
instinctive guys make plays.......

So our coaches/coaching sucks and that impacts the lack of development

And

All our players suck

This is what’s being posted in summary. I believe the players are better than we think and would play better with adequate coaching. We seem to keep turning on our players every offseason when they don’t produce but there’s only one constant…UM coaching is subpar and the NFL knows it. I wonder what Addae is thinking after tweeting “see you soon” to CB Porter. I fear that we are ruining players. They are regressing after being around our coaching, culture and program environment, and not just under Mario’s tenure either.

Let’s watch OJ Frédérique next season, if he regresses and has a poor season. Kam Kinchens wasn’t getting better when he left.

Seriously. Is Bissainthe and Alderman returning and expected to start?

I literally don't understand what the **** we are doing at LB. Wes hasn't known what the **** he's doing for literally 2 seasons now. And we all know **** well he is not going to get his snaps reduced next year. And given how much Chase Smith just played ( even though he was also bad and the young guys like Pruitt and Popo or **** just throw Bobby and hayes in there to see if they can do anything positive!), I'm going to assume Alderman is going to see a bunch of snaps still...

Like are we going to ever let the young LBs play or not? If we are going to bring in a LB who they veiw as a difference maker can we process guys out that aren't?
To be fair, nobody on the defense had any idea what they were doing this year under Guidry. But your point is still valid.

I couldn’t agree more and this kid is a difference maker. Get the deal done Mario.
