With as often as Iowa State added a gap on the LOS with heavy personnel, I don't blame them for matching up with LB's.

I would've liked more Bear fronts to cover more OL up and allow our smaller LB's to spill more rather than taking on blocks, but I'm ok with the personnel usage.

What we're going to do? Play more CB's and S's when they were the players we didn't want out there at all, and against heavy personnel?

The problem was our LB's clearly had no idea how to cover a D gap. Their run fits were like watching monkeys learn Mandarin.

Wen you say Bear Front, do you mean a classic 5-2, with essentially 3 DTs (easy to consider Bain and/or Mesidor as a DT in this circumstance) and the outside contain being DE/OLB hybrids? Or Buddy Ryan's Chicago Bears system, where you bring up the strong safety as well, so it's essentially 6 men at the line? I thought we were doing both. But I wasn't paying enough attention to be honest. Too busy screaming at the TV as our DBs were getting smoked.

My big concern is the suspensions. Karnley already brings some baggage with the spitting incident.

For all we know this could be evidence that MC is going with a no nonsense DC who comes from the NFL. Once the conversation about the league and how to make it occurs, we may see how quickly this kid stops with the nonsense.
