#7 Harris Again

It’s time to get him out of there… idk who asks questions during the week but safety play needs to be beat down on both Mario and Guidry

Flat out putting us in position to lose a **** game 3 times in a row due to straight mediocrity… even below average play would look like all American status compared to how our players have played

We literally needed 4 more DBs. It was the number one complaint I had all off season. Even after they grabbed Meesh, I wanted two more safeties.. I also wanted 2 more CBs on top of Hill. Imagine if OJF hadn’t worked out? We’d be totally screwed. So little depth back there man.
This I remember you were there with me.

To be honest I was mad they snubbed there nose up to a guy we played Thornton and Jackson who went to ucf.

I knew they were looking for a fast nickel similar to Jaden Davis when they sniffed on a player I coached DeAngelo Ponds but even he was significantly smaller than couch n Davis.

You went and grabbed Marley Cook when u legitimately should have grabbed another safety after savion Riley hightailed it after getting beat out.

The thing is .....Jadais Richard actually played a lot of safety/nickel at Vandy. Maybe if Damari wasn't hurt he would see reps back there with what we are seeing but he hasn't been all that either.

They need to be heavy portal this off szn and I don't give a f ...QB and DB should be main priorities

Gogeta4 the tape isn't lying. It's the same people making the same mistakes. There has to be a culture of accountability. For the most part these kids are in position to make the play so a minimal gain does not become an explosive. This is a performance based business, if you're out there consistently missing tackles and busting assignments your time is up. You say 10 more defensive snaps I'm thinking 20-25 for Z
Listen I'm with u I coached zayquan..lol

I want him to play...I'm just saying it looks like how our guy Guidry coaches his safeties it would be baby steps of implementing. He seems to value maybe knowledge or seniority...cause I've been done with Harris for awhile and I would of ate his snaps a while ago.

Folks gotta remember he never was a safety in high school he was a CB and started there here initially as well. His mental has made him even look slower because in a straight line he likely is one of our faster dbs

His “testing numbers” would indicate he’s one of our faster dbs but his play certainly does not and we have seen him trails many offensive players trying to chase them down and they leave him in the dust everytime and he looks slow out there. I’ve been out on Harris since the famu game, I was Complaining about that 71 yard td play vs uf but then I started Watching each of the games over again as the season went on and it’s the same type of mistakes everytime. We need someone else out there because he isn’t it. Zaquan can’t been any worse because we are giving up big plays galore with Harris

Harris would make a great gunner on special teams. This dude should not be starting enough is enough.

The two js in the secondary are garbage Jadis and Jaden. To me they are unplayable.

Nope because when Zaquan Patterson has come in he has looked sound and engaged. Our other dbs have their won faults but Harris is making these mistakes far more often than everyone else
I’m referring to practice. Because something has to be used to evaluate our players and end up with the current order.

I wish I could remember the interview Guidry did EARLY last year, might have been before the season. He said he doesnt like to rotate safeties and he likes his guys to play thru mistakes as he felt that worked for him back in day.. His actions line up after 1 and half season.

It wasn't his assignment, but no clue why he's covering grass lmao. He's thinking to much. Causes him to play slow and can't tackle
I’m tired of hearing that line. At some point job or not you have to play football lol. Break down and make the tackle.

I was pretty sure we played a 3 deep look and meesh was slow to roll over to center field but he still sucks something awful.
Guidry has done a horrible job with scheme and the secondary in general. Like with manny we have plays that are lost pre snap too often

HS eval:

He’s a quick twitch pure speedster with loose hips & good upside.
Natural speed, quick accelerating burst with a long stride running gait & has very good recovery speed.
He was clocked at an unofficial 4.38 40 & had a 10.9 100m his Junior year.

im convinced he was killed & replaced with a body double

Wow!!! I would've never thought he was anywhere near that fast, he looks like a 4.8 guy on the field.

Here's a thought... ( Crucify me if you must haha)

He has good size & seems to blitz well enough. If he has that kind of speed & twitch why not try him at Nickel/ Star where he'd be less of a big play liabilty. Give him no-brain responsibly Let him only blitz & man up against TEs/ SlotWR. When he whiffs a tackle (because he def will) there's at least another safety or possibly the sideline to clean up his mistake. Well at least that's how i use him on CFB 25 😂😂😂

Simply struggling out of the bye week because [Banda, Manny, Patke, Addae] didn’t have them ready …

This is completely predictable again, but the kool aid was delicious and Cam is a football god, so we march on….

7-0

Upon rewatch I countted a handful of plays like this where UL got extra yards because #7 had cement in shoes. #20 puts his foot in the ground and makes decisive moves towards the ball/carrier like a safety should. Even on the play in red zone when we had trouble lining up #20 still nearly brought down the running back in the flat. Just don't see how we can keep playing him.

Don't know if the Brooks TD was on Harris or #29 (like the analyst thought), but there's way too many plays when he just lets guys run by him when his job is to be the last line of defense. Other play that stood out was the long TD run by Brown. On the skycam replay you see #7 take his first couple of steps towards the middle of the field and away from where his reponsibility was.
