#7 Harris Again

I wish I could remember the interview Guidry did EARLY last year, might have been before the season. He said he doesnt like to rotate safeties and he likes his guys to play thru mistakes as he felt that worked for him back in day.. His actions line up after 1 and half season.
Yup thats why i said what i said.

He will give spot duty here and there to the back up.

Its his unit so im sure he is seeing what we are seeing.

I was pretty sure we played a 3 deep look and meesh was slow to roll over to center field but he still sucks something awful.
Guidry has done a horrible job with scheme and the secondary in general. Like with manny we have plays that are lost pre snap too often

Yes that's what i thought happened live but after reviewing it seems like 7 thought they were in Cover 3 as well. Considering Louisville was in the redzone, it would've been a bad call to expect Meesh to cover that much field horizontally in a short space. Then when you notice both CBs play outside technique & the LBs zone drops The only player that looks out of position is Harris. That's what brought me to believe it was Quarters coverage

Everyone was saying this was good talent acquisition.

Meanwhile we let that Bama safety go elsewhere...
This might be worst secondary I’ve ever seen in Miami history. And that includes guys like Kacy Rogers, Highsmith, Telemaqu, Armstrong, Knowles, Van Dyke, etc

I’d kil to have a Ryan Hill, Mike Jackson, Redwine on this team

Like I said in another thread though, this is a byproduct of not recruiting DBs for the past 3 years and beyond.

And something we should be paying very close attention to is how we are layering recruits class to class.

OL heavy then DL/ WR heavy, then DB heavy is gonna bite us in the ***. That seems like a recipe for future holes. Should be pretty even across the board every year.

Almost everyone you named is an upgrade

I know we wanted Mario to stay out of personnel and playbook decisions outside of OL. But ****, if Guidry is going to be this stubborn, then we need some Cuban intervention. At least get an outside consultant (Bama has 8 million of them) who can advise Guidry. It ain't working.

I'm not alleviating Guidry of any responsibility, but we have bad football players. I'm rewatching the game right now... and I just watched Porter get beat on a short out-route... while he had outside leverage! (and then the Louisville kid got a bunch of YAC too)

I watched Kiko struggle to cover a simple angle route by a RB.

Harris can't process the game, take good angles, or be aggressive. The game has just sped up for him since last year. ****, sometimes this year he doesn't even know the gd play call, yesterday he was vacating his responsibilities and jumping covered receivers.

Dude is a mis-tackle machine this year...

That’s like the 9th or 10th he’s done that this season.

You.
Have.
To.
Pull.
His.
***.
Out.
He's dumb.. I have no idea what he's doing there...

There's 2 receivers on that side of the field and 6 defenders, counting Harris.

The other side has 2 receivers and 2 defenders. Oftentimes Harris just seems to totally get lost in the play and completely forget what his actual assignment is.

Looking at that formation and the offensive call, there's ZERO chance Harris was supposed to drop down to that side of the field in coverage

I'm at a point where I wanna see him get benched. I'm guessing this is more of not upsetting our star Right Tackle
I'm not sure if he's a liability regarding depth behind him, but he seems to have regressed along with the rest of this defense.

The past three weeks we've been break/break/bend. What changed this week is Guidry had no adjustments for Brohm in the second half. Maybe this defense was actually worse in the second half letting UL drive at will for 3TDs.

It's a shame, this elite, generational (yes I said it mofos) offense will fall short of the final prize because this defense can't even be average.

ZQ isn't going to be an instant savior.....but If we're going to line up a safety who's going to make mistakes anyways I'd rather the mistakes be teaching points for my highly touted and talented freshman that represents a potential spot of improvement via reps.

It's not just that Harris lacks physical traits....he has HORRIBLE instincts. That 30+ yard TD run in the first half was some of the worst display of safety play I've seen in all my years of football. He takes FOREVER to realize his initial step was at the wrong angle and by the time he attempts to compensate he doesn't have the foot speed to recover the angle.

Bring in the puppies and dumb down the defense. Fact of the matter is nobody is going to hold us under 30 points offensively so our defense just needs to not suck open a$$ and we'll be in the playoffs.

I remember alot of yall compared one of our best players in recent memory kam to these safeties. Yall said harris will play within the system and not get lost like kam lol, yall gotta learn to let players prove themselves consistently first

And i posted in other threads that jaden plays like a robot, he isn’t using any football instincts right now and he is overthinking everything. He has to get in the film room more, maybe sit with guidry and then trust his preparation and have a short memory. I think he can improve its his first real year of playing real snaps but he his hurting us right now

We literally needed 4 more DBs. It was the number one complaint I had all off season. Even after they grabbed Meesh, I wanted two more safeties.. I also wanted 2 more CBs on top of Hill. Imagine if OJF hadn’t worked out? We’d be totally screwed. So little depth back there man.
Mario has said he really is on his coaches to get young guys ready to play, i think he used that philosophy and settled with what we have. They have done that multiple times with the portal, hopefully it changes

Guidry thinks he can turn these mid players into studs. That **** is backfiring in his face.
