And i posted in other threads that jaden plays like a robot, he isn’t using any football instincts right now and he is overthinking everything. He has to get in the film room more, maybe sit with guidry and then trust his preparation and have a short memory. I think he can improve its his first real year of playing real snaps but he his hurting us right now

Oh we miss Kam and James Williams at the safeties. There's no denying this is a big drop off

It's not just that Harris lacks physical traits....he has HORRIBLE instincts. That 30+ yard TD run in the first half was some of the worst display of safety play I've seen in all my years of football. He takes FOREVER to realize his initial step was at the wrong angle and by the time he attempts to compensate he doesn't have the foot speed to recover the angle.

Bring in the puppies and dumb down the defense. Fact of the matter is nobody is going to hold us under 30 points offensively so our defense just needs to not suck open a$$ and we'll be in the playoffs.

Agreed

Patterson needs to start. It’s clear as day JH doesn’t have the mental processing to be a starter. He came in as a CB whereas Patterson has been a beast at safety for years.

Kiko has regressed in pass coverage and movement skills. Not sure what happened

This drove me crazy. Yes, let’s double team the back out of the backfield and ignore the receiver who has caught 28 passes in the game.

They keep talking about this leadership council. This would be a great time to actually go to the coach and express concerns about Harris hurting the team. I peeped how Fletch started… I don’t think that was by coincidence, noticed how Martinez then had his best game here. I say we do the same on defense and start Patterson

Don’t forget the bad angle he took on the big TD run. Completely whiffed the guy. Harris played decent at UF and has completely fallen off since. Unbelievable

I haven't seen the snap counts yet but I'm assuming he already has gotten more snaps in the Lou game than he has all year. When freshman are ready Mario tends to start giving them more snaps starting after a bye week.

yeah. Powell is overcompensating for Richard. I pray Isiah Thomas is healthy too because that kid can play safety well.
Even with the incoming db's, they are still freshman. im concerned about next year. Harris seems to have lost his confidence.

I don't doubt it. And I know there was some concern about Brown joining his brother at FSU if we brought in more CBs. But we had 5 DEs transfer out and didn't worry about bringing in Baron and Alston, we would we protect one or two young guys' egos and jeopardize the entire position group? ... Not saying you have the answer, just that Mario (or Guidry) got this one wrong.
 
The Canesport podcast guys this morning were super critical of Hill and Porter being unable to stick with their receivers, and mentioned Kiko was in coverage a ton, got targeted 10 times and was beat on 8 of the 10 targets. They put that on scheme more than on Kiko, should be a good enough safety to cover the slot because he's too slow. And I agree.

I'm not a secondary guy. But if we don't have the safeties to play in the box like JW did last season, I don't know why we aren't pulling our MLB more often and having Chase Smith or the Bobbys handle cover duty. They are more than big enough for run support. We need more guys with speed out there.

More Patterson, Williams, Robby, Chase, Popo, Bobbys. Less Harris, Meesh, Richard, Hill, Kiko.

Brown or anyone else in the db room isn’t good enough for us to hold off on adding talent to that room lol
