10th Coach Announcement 2/8/18

If we hire Patke, Richt doesn’t have intentions of winning a championship here. Point blank period.

Gotta hire an elite head coach to be your 10th assistant scout team coach or else....

Where is Les Miles when you need him? Now that's a name that a make you say ahhhhhh
 
I'm starting to like Diaz less and less.

If the Miami admin hadn't forced Kool on him, i'm convinced he would have hired some yes-man GA for that position as well.


The problem with Diaz is he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. He doesn't want established assistants because they might question him. He only wants inexperienced yes-men to hang on his every word and do things his way, because Manny Diaz has all the answers.

It's basically the OPPOSITE of what Nick Saban would do.

Ohio State just hired the Washington State DC as their 10th for 800k/year. And yes I know that Washington State's defense is a joke, but still makes more waves than hiring Patke.

Sadly, that is kind of the deal here....and maybe it is out of necessity more than we know. Shalala intentionally held down what we could spend on a head coach...that has been overcome finally, but clearly there is a limit on a staff budget beyond that, unlike an Alabaga or Taint. Almost like we are trying to compete on a youth movement alone with cool *** Grandpappy Richt as the player's coach everybody should want to play for...OL and DL line coaching being the obvious exception to the rule. No OC and son as QB coach.

I'm not knocking our situation, it is working to a degree....but there is something to be said for proven, more expensive staff, and maybe that is just not going to ever be the case as we try to keep up with head coaching salaries (which once again we are falling behind). I just always have to remind myself we are not a state school and maybe more importantly, a win at any cost institution.

we don't have the funds nor the financial backing from fans like OSU, UF, FSU, and those big public state schools do to hire a guy making nearly 1 mill. if thats what you want, that isn't miami and will never be miami

I don't know anything about Patke's, he might end up being the best recruiter in America but as of right now. I don't think that it's a good hire.

Didn't Pete tell that after NSD we would announce a new quality control type of coach? If I'm not wrong, he told that we would be happy about it.

How about a non existent resume? At Miami we shouldn’t have to give guys their first shot at on the field spots, it’s getting ridiculous how green this staff is.
 
They must think he’s gonna be a sniper on the trail. (I know Coburn but he came in late to the game on that one.) That’s the only thing that makes sense. They think he’s gonna be the defensive Hartley. If not he’s a pathetic choice. #OfferTai
