10th Coach Announcement 2/8/18

Patke. Banda. RumF. Lil Jon.. All cutting their teeth at the U on the same staff. 4 first time position coaches. Thought Richt was suppose to be SEC.

At least Lil Jon is proven on the recruiting trail. He’s good in my book

I'm ok with Richt giving his son a spot. His winning % earned him that right when he signed here (calling plays as well).. but having 3 out 4 defensive position coaches with 0 years of experience before Miami is unacceptable.

All Patke had to do for a promotion was secure a free trip from Coburn, who we obviously never had a shot at despite some falling for obvious trolling?

What a lazy, uninspired move.

Patke, who failed to close on Coburn?

Nice.

But he got us so close!!!

All joking aside, I’m sure he’s good but man, we need recruiting pros helping out on defense, not some rookies. I know it’s the 10th coach and all but it’s an underwhelming hire

Now I see y folks in Athens got tired of Richt. If it’s Patke, this would be one of the dumbest use of a new rule change to benefit this program I’ve ever seen.

Basically. Richt has poor taste in assistants which is probably why he couldn't get over the hump. Looking for to much "characters guys" and not enough quality coaches/recruiter. To be hired by Richt you just need a wife and a stable household without actually being good at your job.

If we hire Patke, amateur hour continues at The U.

This!

Assuming for a moment that it is Patke then amateur hour continues at Miami and quite frankly it is this reality that fuels the JV perception that many elite recruits have of us. It almost feels that after the entire Shalala/Golden fiasco the admin got the message from the fan base but did just enough to convince us fans that they(the admin) had done a complete 180 when in reality it was more like a 60 degree move. Don't get me wrong there have been plenty of positive changes that cannot be ignored. The issue is simple however. The UM administration must go all in if we are to become an elite program again and I'm not entirely convinced they are willing to.

Since nobody will say it, I will. If its Patke, then this staff is not dark enough for this market at this time. This is a racially conscious market. You have a Black head coach at your number 1 rival in the north. A Black head coach to the south west at a very promising program. Whiile here at UM, we will only have 3 black coaches out of ten. Only 30% black... in Miami....at this time???? We are about to get KILLED on the recruiting trail down here. You have the chance to add one more, but bring in a guy whiter than wonderbread with the edges cut off. This is the worse news of the last couple days. If Richt does this, it will be his Waterloo.
