10th Coach Announcement 2/8/18

Come on man, Richt turned Rosier into Cinderella last year. We won 10 games with a QB that wouldn't start on any other Top 25 team.
Not impressed with Richt the CEO. Just wasn't sold on his X and O's before but now he's scaring me

Got to see what he does this year with the talent at his disposal and a healthy group of offensive players. Offense last year was pretty good but tailed eventually with Malik’s inaccuracies as well as ahmmon richards not being 100% all year and missing Herndon the last 2 games

I like this choice. It’s based on what he has done with Diaz all along, and this last recruiting season.

I don’t get it why you all are so negative obsessive over anything MR does.

Here’s an example of an NFL coach with humble beginnings (per Wikipedia). Not comparing talent, just path to success:

Coach Matt Patricia:

Rensselaer Polytechnic (1996)
Graduate assistant

Amherst (1999–2000)
Defensive line coach

Syracuse (2001–2003)
Offensive graduate assistant

New England Patriots (2004–2017)
- Offensive assistant (2004)
- Assistant offensive line coach (2005)
- Linebackers coach (2006–2010)
- Safeties coach (2011)
- Defensive coordinator (2012–2017)

Detroit Lions (2018–present)
Head coach

You naysayers are such know it alls before it happens.

your comparing patke to a guy that has been at new england for 14 years and literally is a rocket scientist.

Same guy basically.

Richt needs to get away from feeling like he needs to give these guys that start on the administrative side the next opening that comes about.

This guy better prove to be a Hartley clone cause just showing up to coach outside LBers ain’t gonna cut it.

The defensive side of the ball S U C K S !!! As recruiters for the most part. Here was a chance to fix it and we get another Diaz yes man....Hope he proves us all wrong.Doubt he does.

That is all we need another Diaz clone so we can be outcoached by the opposing team’s OC every single game..

Who is it ? And what does he bring to the table ? Can he recruit ? If not another waste

Yeah god forbid we give a guy a shot who has been paying his dues. Why not get a guy who has been at 5 programs alr day and would likely leave for a better offer. Seriously. Did anyone outside south Florida know butchs assistants when he was here? His coaching treee turned out amazing. Manny had been grooming this kid since miss state. He and bands go back. Give him a shot.

He also had an offense that couldn’t stay on the field and a defense that literally got no holding calls all year
Still shut down va tech and nd

Did you actually read my post? If you did, did you comprehend what I wrote? Please re-read the sentence above “Coach Matt Patricia:”

Sheesh, sometimes I think we (the fan base) deserved Al Golden, simply because we don’t know good fortune if hit us in our faces.

I'm incredibly disappointed in this hire on so many levels:
1. I thought we were moving to more of a Nickel defensive alignment, and Manny already coached LBs, who totally underperformed by the way
2. Every other major program went and cherry picked an experienced coach, like an OC or DC from a smaller school, we settled
3. If you wanna hire another Def coach, get someone to help Kul, he definitely needs it on the recruiting side
4. Patke has no real ties to SFL, his are in Texas where.
5. I would have loved to see us hire an experienced and creative offensive play caller from a smaller school, but Richt is too stubborn for that

I really hope he proves me wrong, but the reasons Georgia fired Richt are popping up in Miami now too. Too much loyalty or kindness and not enough win at all costs CEO mentality.

Pete was the one saying we were transitioning to a nickel. I'm convinced the staff was feeding him some BS in the end.
