Zipperer

Wydermyer looks like a solid player but he's not a matchup problem in single coverage the way Zipperer is. This is more of a philosophical debate and my football philosophy is that in-line TEs are unnecessary in modern football. I view the 'redundancy' of having multiple skilled flex TEs as a good thing, whereas you look at the NFL and see a dearth of talent at the position yet teams insist on trotting out mediocre TEs who aren't real threats in the passing game just "because that's the way it's been done". It doesn't make sense anymore when that spot could be filled by a more athletic skilled player in a different function.

Anyways this might be straying too far off in a tangent so bottom line is Wydermyer looks "Miami caliber" to me but I wouldn't prioritize him over superior playmakers. Like I alluded to in my previous post I think you can design offense without needing an inline TE.

I seriously think you didnt watch Wydermeyers film. "inline te" is Polendy. A te is a Te. Wydermeyer is all of it (balanced te). Watch his film ....he is split out wide and doing everything Zipp does....just 2-3 inches taller. He's doing all of the stuff are te's do currently in his hs offense based off of his jr film. Hes a match up problem in single coverage bruv.
Looking at the nfl there isnt a dearth of 6'2 guys at TE...and currently UM te's are still the best so i think were doing ok sending our guys that way.

That being said...i'm obviously not a big fan of Hodges. I'm a big fan of Zipp and Wydermeyer. You like Hodges more so than Wydermeyer?.

I think Hodges will eventually develop into a hback/fullback type of role for us honestly

Thats the Duke game. I imagine Summerall would be with him? Wish we had a better game for him to visit for.

its that or pitt on the schedule. if canes continue winning till the duke game, HRS will still be a fun environment.

Thats the ONLY way i see him. He's like 6'1 235 and a good amount of bad weight. He has GLUE HANDS though..and rac ability better than Zip and Wydermeyer. I can see him being FB back up or in a Choc Gray role honestly. He's a prototypical Hback. Quadtrine Hill type

I thought zip was 6'3.5"? Hes not that much shorter than summerall and summerall is 6'6.

Id take all 3 tight ends this cycle we need all the depth we can get at that position and hodges looks like a hback/fb

Yep he will find a role but just not as one of the featured tight end at least. He’s talented with great hands just short for his position

Zip shorter than Brevin who is a legit 6’3. Zip 6’2 or 6’2.5

Zip knows he would have to wait at least two-three years sitting behind Jordan and mallory
Zip knows that football is all about competition and luck. It’s a hard sport and soft tissue injuries and fractures are common. Next man up can mean your next or you just got injury redshirted. Also, Some dude can get a dui or in a fight and get suspended and your up. . You either want to be a cane or not. Very simple.

In addition to that Florida has more overall numbers than us at the position and they signed More tight ends than us last class too

Either sign with us or lose the first game of your college career next season. Very simple.

Wydemeyer is on the same level as the other guys we’re recruiting. He’s that good.

Like I’ve sajd , give me any combination of the two.
