Zipperer

Yea but will we have space??

Even Kaiir Elam was there today and I thought that ship sailed months ago

I agree. pretty surprising. Even more surprising because I don't think he has ever mentioned us as an interest. Maybe I missed it. Pretty sure UF and UGA made him a priority right now. Will be interesting to see what unfolds here... Maybe this is one of those recruitments that has been going on behind the scenes

Kinda want Jalen Wadenmeyer anyways because Zipp is Brevin size. But if Zipp comes with Summeralll then you have to take him.

Thats how ive always felt. I mean we will have like 4 te's under 6'3. I would rather go with the size in Wadenmeyer. Zipp is better in the pass game though...but him AND Hodges are under 6'3 guys. Hodges is barely 6'1

If you want size & blocking go recruit another FB. Or play 6 linemen on the field. Give me the best athletes and playmakers at TE. It's an outdated position and I'd rather have my TEs flexed out or lined up as H-backs. Having an extra gap is overrated and unnecessary.

Zipperer is a major talent and you guys talk about "stacking chips" but the moment there's 1 crystal ball to UF after a visit he's a nobody all of a sudden? Get real.

There's no reason Jordan, Mallory and Zipperer can't all be on the field at the same time. They're all capable of winning 1on1 matchups. Throw in Njoku too while we're at it. We need big targets with Richt's static isolation route offense.

I mean its not like im talking about some scrub. https://247sports.com/Player/Jalen-Wydermyer-92227/
He's the #18 ranked te in the nation. He flexes out and does all as Zipp..but also can play inline probably more so than Zip. The issue is we have 2 "move te's on roster currently...with 1 already committed. I love Zipperer's game...i just think its kind of redundant...personally i would see..use Hodges as a FB. I'm happy with Zipp or Wydermyer. Im not sure about the crystal ball..but this is what ive been saying since summer time...i was higher on him over Hodges, etc.

I’m ok with any combination of three. All are studs.

Ivins about to flip his CB to UF...they need to lose some games.

Wydermyer looks like a solid player but he's not a matchup problem in single coverage the way Zipperer is. This is more of a philosophical debate and my football philosophy is that in-line TEs are unnecessary in modern football. I view the 'redundancy' of having multiple skilled flex TEs as a good thing, whereas you look at the NFL and see a dearth of talent at the position yet teams insist on trotting out mediocre TEs who aren't real threats in the passing game just "because that's the way it's been done". It doesn't make sense anymore when that spot could be filled by a more athletic skilled player in a different function.

Anyways this might be straying too far off in a tangent so bottom line is Wydermyer looks "Miami caliber" to me but I wouldn't prioritize him over superior playmakers. Like I alluded to in my previous post I think you can design offense without needing an inline TE.

Zip knows he would have to wait at least two-three years sitting behind Jordan and mallory

so you see if you can get wydermeyer and zipp and then drop hodges or bring him in as a fullback

Fair points and I agree that Zipperer looks like the bigger match-up nightmare and the general trend is away from in-line TEs. But in this offense, with the sort of power running game Richt badly wants us to rely on, I think we probably still need at least one serviceable, in-line TE on the roster based on our offensive philosophy. Depending on the moment you catch me, I still prefer Zipp because he's dynamic, but I'd still be happy with Wydermyer and Hodges.

He is one injury away from starting himself... Not sure what your talking about. We are stating 2 freshman right now. He aint going to sit...
