Patterson spoke to ON3 today:

“It comes down to now where I feel I can make the biggest impact at the quickest. I want to get on the field. All five schools have great academics and I like what they do on the field as a team, but playing early, the depth charts and the impact I can have on the program are things I am focused on.

“The home feeling is the same at each of these schools, so it is one or two things that will help me commit to one of them.”

“My plan all along was to take five official visits, but I don’t know exactly what the future will bring. I will go into those visits committed now, so I might want to settle down a little and only take two or three, but I haven’t decided on that yet. My plan is to still take at least a couple of official visits though.”

This is what he said about Miami:

“I have always thought about being part of the Miami team that brought Miami back. I would be devastated if they won a national championship while I was in school and I wasn’t part of the team. That has always had Miami on my list. Then the new staff too and how they have recruited me made an impact on me. I have always felt like a priority for them.”
Sounds like a ****** Cane to me.

Been a minute since we've heard that. Here's hoping Mario personally recruiting a Chaminade kid wins out in the end, but ****, I really wish we'd have won 8 games last year.

Obviously this all changes if we land Stone and Patterson on Saturday, but if we are being real, it’s worse than a Manny and Golden class AS OF RIGHT NOW relatively speaking. Manny and Golden (both incompetent to be clear) never had the resources that are available to Mario.

Yeahhhhhh ……. no.

I’m just glad he never said “ Dream School “ cause that’s the kiss of death….so we have a chance.

Bruh if he commits to FSU after saying that last paragraph, holy **** :pgdead:

“I would be devastated if Miami won a national title while I was in school and not a part of it.”

Like someone said about I love to see this and not the notorious “dream school” quote.

Kid could play early for us and make an immediate impact with Kam and JW likely entering the draft after this year.

But he spoke about corn row too
Don’t hand in to every word these kids say.

When asked what stood out about Florida State, Patterson immediately talked about how the Seminoles’ fourth-year head coach helped him mentally.
“Coach Mike Norvell really gave me that push …,” Patterson said. “He gave me that confidence back in myself that time I went through a lot when everybody was trying to force me to like a position that I had never played before. … I’ve never played linebacker; I always played safety.”

Yeah it’s likely gonna be a battle between us and FSU for him. I do actually have a good feeling about landing him though… He seems like a Miami guy!

No matter what he will be a Cane come signing day

I see it another way. He's thought or considered the what if he chose somewhere else.

I'll say I'm unconcerned right now. Play the season and give him a reason to come. We do that right and offer similar or above others, **** be right here.

The only concern is if there's a deal that's just well and above what we've offered and that school is doing big things on the field.

Yeah, if he picks FSU this would easily be the worst troll job I’ve ever seen.

Also, can we stop with the gymnastics about the recruiting failures this cycle and be honest about the reasons for the whiffs if we miss on this kid?

I heard that the reason fsu is doing better recruiting this year is that Mike has gone from giving recruits back rubs to having his wife give hand jobs on each visit.
Maybe that was the “chicken guy” that poster was referring to. By any chance is she from Delaware?

The hand job is worth $3 tops. Got to be more than that.
